Will placements change next year?

I'm sure most of us still remember that moment when you pressed "Continue" after your 10th match expecting to get a really good rank after a 7-3 placement and then ending up with something like Bronze 1 after being Silver 2 the previous year.

So with the 2016 season quickly coming, can I get a Rioter to state if any changes will be made to placements?

Last year, anyone in Bronze was almost guaranteed Bronze 5 and people in Silver became Bronze most of the time. 5-5 meant one tier lower than Season 4.

Will placements change next year?

Good luck trying to get an answer on how their system works, they won't explain it because they know it is so faulty.

Upvote this so that it will get more attention, and possibly get answered

Riot needs to do a COMPLETE reset on MMR this next season. They need to make provisionals 15-20 games so people get placed in the right tier.

Honestly yeah I went 5/5 last season, was placed in s3 or s2, i played there all season and did well. I went 6/4 this season, was placed in b5, and have only made it to b3. So did b3 players get better or is elo hell real? I mean, i went 6/4 this season and was like wtf why b5.

They don't do hard resets because they make absolutely 0 sense.

Assuming the system works, every player will eventually fall back to where they were, only creating a huge number of lopsided games in the process.

A bronze player in promos gets put in bronze, because they are playing other bronze players. If they go 7-3, they win 2 more games than they lost against bronzies. That doesn't warrant gold 4.

Everyone is putting too much emphasis on the record when that doesn't matter for placements. I made this thread not long after analyzing what many people told me after ranked play. Obviously its not from Riot, but it seems to explain every outcome of the placements.
