Why not let Urgot be an exception for Steraks?

Yea he is considered ranged but he plays way more like a melee juggernaut, mostly late game.

Why not make Urgot an exception for buying Steraks? He is classified as a juggernaut but has the penalties of a ranged champion for his auto range(350) which isn't much at all.

Wouldn't buff his early game, would make his mid to late game a little bit better.

Thoughts on making Urgot an exception for Steraks?

if they make him melee, he would just abuse tiamat.

They're be better off just buffing or fixing urgot. Sterak could potentially be too strong on him and if you flag him as melee you also run into tiamet issues, and if you unflag steraks you make steraks available to everybody again. Additionally its uncommunicated that urgot can buy steraks and just seems weird to place in his passive " can be steraks specifically", while in the shop it saying "melee only" and buying it on urgot could confuse people.

I agree, it's hard for me to find a good build with hi when i dont have access to items like steraks and Hydra. Mind you, urgot with titanic hydra would be op cause it would be combined with his passive (his SHOTGUN KNEES)

I would rather Riot add critical strike support to his W so item 3085 becomes less of a meme item on him. Also I think W should become like Jhin passive where it takes into account ALL types of right-click scaling (Crit,Attack speed and AD) which would really open up his item pool.

also @ OP to answer your question Riot already tried this before in testing and the feedback was bad so they decided against it.
