Who was the worst?; or How to Implement A Feedback System

I'd like to talk about an idea that Riot will never put into place, and thats for a good reason, but I'm writing because at it's core, there's something worth discussing.

We need some sort of rating system that says "10 people voted, and you received the most votes for costing your team the game."

Now that's obviously too malicious to put into the game. But in some of the most painful loses I've had - the ones where you're stomping them all game, things go off the rails, and we lose - there are guys adamant that going for Elder Dragon was correct despite all of the enemies being alive, and our nexus having no towers. He was certain that my decision to stay at the nexus and sweep minions was bad.

While we're never going to have a "No, the problem was you" option in this game, it doesn't bring me to a point I think we can operate from which is we need either an education or feedback option. I'm imagining the system to be pretty simplistic, and it would go something like this:

  1. All players would have to activate "Feedback" before they could be reviewed in the system. Players who don't want it could simply not activate the system.

  2. At the end of each match, all 9 other people could review the players performance through an interface similar to the report system. The options would be something akin to:

Areas to review for improved performance:

  • Item Build
  • Objective Priorities (for the KDA Jungle bait-takers)
  • Too aggressive
  • Needs more CS
  • Champ/Role Mismatch
  1. Within each, there's be a little comment section if folks wanted to write something. Given the feedback option, all comments would be subject to intense scrutiny if against the TOS.

  2. Results could be accessed by champ for the player on his own Profile Page on the website (not in the client). There'd be a graph displaying which reviews are most common and a scroll down of the reviews for that umbrella-review, along with the players who made the comment (and a report button, in case).

  3. Players who participate in reviewing other players who requested feedback will be rewarded with a Helpful banner if they achieve 100 review points a season (for the next season). 1 review = 1 point. For 500 points, players can purchase (at no additional cost) a Summoners Icon of an Owl, indicating that are top reviewing person. For 1000 review points a season, players will receive a free skin (already existing, and not specific to a player) at the start of the next season. This will appear as a token in the Loot section of your client for you to cash in. This resolves issues of players not owning the champ the skin is associated with. The cost for activitaing this skin will be zero, though the token will function like all other skin tokens (e.g. for disenchants, or rerolling with two other skins for an additional permanent).

I don't see any overall positive benefit in this. If players need a performance evaluation Riot can just do something with the Mastery Grade system to show players where they are objectively lacking compared to their peers.

If you have the other players in the match evaluate them, well...I mean, they are all in the same elo. They aren't exactly qualified to instruct each other unless they are a smurf. I could tell my top laner in my match what to do, but wtf do I know? I'm not a top main like he probably is, and even if I were if I was better than him I probably wouldn't have been there.
