All 3 of these champions are significantly stronger in solo queue than they are in LCS-style play though...

They're still significantly strong in diamond than they are in LCS style play. My point is true for ALL levels of solo queue. That doesn't mean that they aren't significantly weaker in diamond-challenger than in bronze/silver, but that wasn't the point. These are all champions that require team coordination to shut down. While random players in high elo are better at coordinating than in low elo, they're still nowhere near the level a pre-organized team is at.

Who cares what anyone else thinks? Well I mean, a lot of people obviously, but the expression and intended meaning behind the rhetorical inquiry certainly applies in this case.

If it works for you, go for it. Ya know, just so long as you're fine if it results in play a tier or more below where you would be otherwise.

in season 6 i used mordekaiser to climb to gold in like 40 games from bronze 3 to gold 5 lul, skipped a few divisions too.

at that point mordekaiser was something like the 4th least played ranked champ and nobody remembered what the hell the guy did. i wasn't even trying that hard, i was just building full glass cannon usually and people would still fight in my DoT circles.
