Summoner Spell suggestion: a tower shielding active for supports

The Ecdysiast··3 votes·2,772 views

I think it'd mesh well with the introduction of turret armor. Nothing crazy like Fortify or Garrison, just a simple health shield. It's kind of sad to me to see that supports are now forced to bring Ignite because Exhaust was nerfed thanks to other classes abusing it.

I know it's a stretch to ask for, considering they haven't added a new summoner spell to the regular map in years, but it'd be cool to have some sort of defense against enemies who can just ignore you and slam the turrets.

They should make exhaust way stronger but add it's effects to the user as well (maybe not the slow). that way none picks it out of support and supports are happy :) Also, Fuck Pyke. Totally unrelated

That would be terrible.

And I agree, fuck Pyke. I love to play him, but that's because I don't like actually supporting my team. They should remove his gold sharing and just up his level 1 base stats so he can jungle.

Actually, it wouldn't be a awful idea.

The user and the target of exhuast are both handicapped losing 40% Damage, %Attack Speed, Armor, and MR. While only the target loses MS.

This would stop anyone outside of the support slot to viably use it. Supports could usually care less about the Damage reduction and AS. While it would suck to lose MR and Armor, the target is already also doing reduced damage.

I don't agree with losing the MR and Armor. I wouldn't take exhaust if its gonna drop my MR and Armor. You're using exhaust to try and close the cap with a champ or keep them close to you so they can't run so why would I take it if it is gonna make it easier for them to turn and burst me because now my MR and Armor are gone. You would make it useless for the exact people you are trying to make use of it.

Its like a 5 Armor/MR loss, they're still damage reduced by 40%.

The point of exhaust is actually to prevent Assassin's and Divers from killing the carry using the damage reduction, MS and AS slows. it just has added bonuses of being great as a sticking tool.

I'm sure most Supports would gladly have power returned into their main sum spell at the cost of it being a two sided sword.

Also we mainly see Ignite because it is over-tuned and it's beyond me why they haven't nerfed it by now. Ignite got a couple buffs while every other Sum spell outside of Flash were getting slow nerfs. Ignite also helps the Mage supports control the lane, because most of their kits are made for mid lane lol.

Well since exhaust currently does not even reduce att speed, I thought they could give that back to us in return for supports having reduced damage and as (omg who the fuck cares) for the grand 2,5 sec it lasts. Would also make it more challenging to use since you would ideally want to get your burst off then exhaust quickly after, I think it would be a nice dynamic.

It could have that aspect added back to it.

Exhaust does not reduce Armor or MR what are you guys talking about? Just make it reduce attack speed again which was removed back in the day or Lower the CD on it and make it apply all debuffs except MS to the user as well

I only say it would be terrible because League doesn't do self-penalties like that. Blitzcrank and Rammus are exceptions to the rule, but even then the positive aspect is not an enemy debuff/damage.

That doesn't mean it can't.

No, but it wouldn't fit well.

I'd rather this become some sort of item 3056 rework that would actually make the item useful, instead of Supports gimping themselves by having one less Summoner Spell slot.

One less? But we only pick one summoner... Oh you count flash as a choice , good one

I deleted "item suggestion" and suggested it be a spell so that it could actually be used while turret plating is still a thing, instead of supports attempting to buy a full item early when they're not farming.

That's Janna's thing...

Just because Janna has it doesn't mean every other support should be able to do it too.

It's not really Janna's "thing." Just because she can do it doesn't mean it's central to her character nor that it should be entirely limited to her.

Every other support should be able to do it, not because of anything to do with Janna, but because there is no other way for anyone in the game to defend a turret from someone like Nasus, Tryndamere, etc. who can just ignore your attempts to fight them and deal massive damage to the turret.
