Tired of "it's just a game" supports; where they play the ENTIRE game not auto attacking or interacting with enemy champions.
Then when I tell them to help me in fights; rather than BAIT -> they pull some rookie move like flashing into the enemy tower or running in 1v2.

because you have to play all the roles at a moments notice. i've been playing this game 8 seasons, long before there was role select, the players had higher skill floors back then precisely because they had to be able to do it all. if your support knows what adc is like then they're a better support. but I'm sure that's a leap the minds here can't fathom so whatever.

Uh no, during the times where there's no Role Selection, douchebags constantly instalocks their role since they were the lead picks in Champ Select. Hence, resulted in every match being chaotic.
If you wanna learn every role without being enforced into a selection, stick to Normals.

pick order got to choose their roles, yes that was the point, everyone can see who picked first and everyone knew that pick order was king, so frankly you're just airing a lot of bullshit here like a degenerate so I don't understand what your complaint even is. someone is first pick and locks the role you want without role select? get over it.

and then they get reported and banned. i don't see how the new system stops people from doing that (disco nunu) if they want to, back then you just had enemy team inform the troll that pick order is king, new system allows things like nubrac to exist who doesn't even know why the meta exists and his followers are the same. ergo i'm only left to believe that now most of the player base doesn't know why the META is the META and ergo none of them know how the game functions holistically so they're technically worse at the game despite having some slightly better mechanics in their role and a precipitous drop off on off roles.
old queue system was oodles better than this one just for getting people to be good at the game. new one lets you be good at a role and then people complain about autofill because they dunno how the rest of the game works. but you've missed that so why bother chatting with you while you act like a big boil who knows none of the games history or how it worked in real time. ?

Pick order was a more reliable system than this in terms of skill and teamwork.

If you want proof of this, think about it for a second. Who would you rather have auto filled jungle in your team, a janna/nami/sona only player or a top lane main?

Support may have a bad reputation, but just like any other role in the game, there's ways to be a good support and a bad one. A support player's skill when it comes to farm might be lower than a laners, but they should have some of the best macro sense since they're in charge of warding.
Peeling, initiating, and skill shots are all important skills that supports use as much as any other role.
And I'd rather have a Leona or nautilus main autofilled into my jungle rather than some split pushing tryndamere main.

Prior to role preferencing, I would see someone who refused to play a lane they got due to pick order maybe once a week or so. Now it's more than once a day I see someone begging to change because they don't know how to play.

Not complicated to understand that if you only do 1 thing competently your weaker then others who are as good with multiple things. More synergy more counter picks and your not fucking dead weight if you get filled or your main banned.
Wanna be an OTP? that's100% fine. Just please Dodge when you cant play your pick cuz your gonna be heavy as shit if you don't have anything else your able to play.
Literally any one can que for support, enable fill protection, get their roles. It's 2-3 champions and some dodging is all that's needed to never cripple yourself or teammates. Instead they gamble on if they might have to play things they cant play and don't practice and its some how the systems fault or their teammates fault.
No sympathy from me.
