I'm seeing Glacial Augment troll jungle Ori's.. Players running straight into the enemy team, dying then blaming the jungle... "I don't care anymore" type of players.
Just do a damn ranked/MMR reset already?

Was 63% on my main and 70% on my smurf for their first 150 games. Then got trashed by the influx of trolls when they reset positional ranking, along with the fact Riot gave me my highest rank while giving me my LOWEST MMR. Meaning... there were 4-5 divisions between my MMR and rank. 9 LP 23 LP loss takes a whole season to fix, and it was due to nothing I did, except playing "Fill"
Many players are in this same boat.
They've also pretty much balanced about 110/144 champs around how their team performs rather than how they perform for their team, making a stark inequality between skilled players who play the 34 champs who can carry, and the 110 who can't, who have approximately the same skill.

Ragnaveil3 votesEnd of season is probably the only time they could do it, but at the same time if there isn't any countermeasure to catch boosters, then the ladder will still be plagued with inequality, on top of how very wonky matchmaking's design is right now. It just purely bases on MMR, no rank involved whatsoever.

They'll probably do it again this year.
The problem with matchmaking this year has 0 to do with boosters, and everything to do with Riot balance decisions, making 70% of the champ roster balance around team's performance and the other 30% of champions balance around individual performance, and the fact they reset Positional ranking without restarting the season and doing fresh Placements.
Those are literally the two reasons ranked is screwed up atm.

The champion roster compared to previous seasons are more diverse then it was in the past, including the LCS. The problem isnt the champion balancing its the matchmaking.
Ragnaveil1 votesLike champion balance feels a bit shitty atm, but it isn't enough to completely warp matchmaking. Hell, even with how bad it is, it doesn't even scratch the issue of matchmaking. Ranks need to be involved again. They got rid of that to lower queue times for high elo, issue is it ruins everything lower than it, including diamond. Simply make a split of how it works in low, and how it works in high, that already exists with how master to challenger works.

If u reset ranked or mmr, all u do is take this group of players and put them down a step. U will still have the same freaking people in ur mmr/elo braket, u will get matched with the same people, u will just be labeld as a lower braket, congrats. A reset does NOTHING.
The only way to get these bad players out of ur game? Win. Win a lot. Ur reward are higher elo players u will still call bad because they are not faker. Unless u are challenger korea, then u might meet faker. [zombie-brand-clap]

You know what winning a lot actually gets you? A lower mmr than your rank for some reason, so you are still having to deal with teammates a tier below you and getting less lp for winning. I climbed from bronze 2 to silver 2 this season with around a 62% winrate playing jungle. Then i demoted to silver 3 after getting 3 straight games of getting a bronze 1 botlane with sub 50% winrates that got pounded every time by high silver ranked players. In previous seasons you could blame them for feeding, but now its not even their fault because they shouldn't be in that game.

You do know currently EVERYONES ranks are so messed up, that we see bronzes in silver, silver in golds etc? That's what the entire post was talking about.
When you reset a ladder things are rough at first (obviously everyone has to go through placements again) Then the winrates are fixed..
Then you have games that are actually winnable where your ADC isn't getting 1 cs a minute in a silver/gold game and runs it down mid. (Classic example of bronze players in silver/gold)
We never had that happen this season.. just a goofed up placement system that gave people random stats that wasn't proper.

During that horrible streak, numerous feeding teammates, trolls, etc. I even had a 0-14-5 Nocturne just the other day who cost us the game. What a joy! Not -.-.
Things are a little better since then but I had never gone through that before with such bad luck- and I've been playing since 2014.

eprales1 votesI'm actually close to being done with league as a whole. It has run its course with my veins, I'm gonna try dota 2. There's no longer any strategy in the game. There's too much mobility, too much damage. Tanks fall out of favor because you can't do more damage. Laning phase is who has the ranged advantage, throws a spell and run back like a bitch. Get run down by 4 man bot because one of your team mates got autofilled jungle and mid can't be bothered to ping mias. Communication has fallen out of favor because of a toxic game environment of everyone for themselves. It's not about winning together as a team, it's about these people better play as good as I do or they will suffer
