Volibear passive with gargoyle stoneplate interaction

Just out of curiosity, how does Volibear's passive stack with stoneplate?

In the most extreme case, if Volibear uses stoneplate first and his passive is activated immediately before stoneplate wears off, does he effectively get twice as much health out of his passive, or does he gain healing for each tick based on his max health at the time of the tick?

Similar question would apply to Mundo ultimate, and possibly some other healing over time based on max health effects that I'm not thinking of.

Effectively, a fully-activated Stoneplate will reduce the effectiveness of heals by 50%. Because his innate is based off of percent max health, the raw healing it does is doubled. Put that with the 50% reduction, and it's a net increase of 0.

So basically, Stoneplate (at 100%) doesn't interact with his passive in any meaningful way except decreasing the chance he dies while his innate is ticking and while the Stoneplate buff is active.

This would be true if stoneplate's active was effective the whole time he was healing.

My question is basically: Stoneplate is activated granting the extra 100% health Volibear's passive activates Stoneplate's active wear's off, taking away the 100% extra health. Volibear's passive is now running with 100% healing effectiveness (since he's already lost the extra health from stoneplate), but the total heal amount was calculated when he had higher health. Thus he effectively gets a higher heal out of the deal.

At least i think that's how it should work, but if it recalculates on each tick then it won't matter.

It updates each tick.

I actually can't think of anything that doesn't. Even a DoT placed on an enemy will update accordingly, even with a rank up of the ability.
