I feel the main reason supports unpopular is the lack of income and experience when behind

The other 4 roles can depend on their cs as a crutch until they catch up or reach late game full builds on both sides, but the supports stay behind throughout the majority of the game in most cases, especially when they have to repeatedly "take 1 for the team".

It's just not good feels.

  1. Underleveled, which means squishier or less powerful for the whole game.
  2. Gold starved, so damage is a big no, but also tankyness suffers from it in a adc meta.
  3. Team dependant, for everything, even waveclear.
  4. Never really "fed", just slightly harder to kill.

I'm not saying the role sucks, I play support and I have fun, but it really lacks the variety, rewards and sense of accomplishments other roles have.

This is why I'm hoping the Taric rework makes him some sort of support fighter that scales, maybe with a percent health scaling attack or something

Basically. They need to make support items that keep them semi in the game.

There really is no reason when most games are at their endpoint they have like 2-3 items while everyone has 5-6

Just literally do what Jng does and make it so talisman and FQC and such are support only, and then buff the crap outta them. Not only does that make support more valuable since only they can buy those team items, but keeps them in the game.

Its for tha treason I play Morgana since I build her same as I do mid and I dont make any attempts at not taking kills. I won't touch ADC farm, but kills they better be on top of the game or I will take every single kill.

Until they do something, support will be the hated role. And Riot is actually kinda foolish to thing it is perfectly fine to have one team member INTENTIONALLY weaker than the others. I get they can't have a million damage, but that isn't all a support does. A support is worthless if they barely survive to even do their CC. Braum was one of the tankiest supports, I have seen him literally explode pathetically before he could even ult.

It's only natural that people don't like supporting for a good handful of reasons:

  1. Less exp/gold gains in general. I mean, just look at the map, there is only 4 sources, so at least one person will have less gold/exp. Makes people "feel like shit".
  2. Having to depend on others because usually less ability to deal damage.
  3. Many people aren't tactical masterminds. To play a good support, tactics play a big part of it. Though jungle needs just as much tactics, but with good mechanics, which is something many people have, they can do well through jungle.
  4. People like looking good and getting glory. Being able to deal damage = glory. It's just like in MMOs anyways, where 3/4 of players are dps oriented. Supports aren't damage oriented.
  5. Playing support is like playing a different game as compared to that of carries, which to many people it is no fun.

This is only a mere generalization and answers to add on to OP's thoughts, so please do not take any of these too personally.

I mean, everyone has different definitions of fun, yes?
