Lets name all the champions who WERE nerfed when they became popular despite not getting any changes

I'm going to get started, I'm sure their is more, but I'll try to add them as they are suggested -

  1. Twitch - After literally nothing but slight nerfs and a graphical rework since august of 2012, he was absolutely gutted in patch 4.10 when he began to appear in about 10% of games (and an average win rate), and hasn't been seen since!

  2. Viktor - Suddenly started seeing some play (~10% play rate) with around a 50% win rate - Nerfed pretty hard in 5.16, still seeing some play rate

  3. Sejuani (suggestion) - Okay, this one technically qualifies, but it's entirely due to cinderhulk. Then again, Vayne's all because of BorK, so meh.

Meanwhile, Vayne's been the most played ADC by far since at least 5.10 (~35%), and's rocking a very solid win rate of 52%.

As an honorable mention, Ahri pretty much always has one of the highest win rate AND play rates, but that's not due to them forgetting about her or blaming the meta, that's because she gets buffed anytime she isn't the most dominate mid laner (and sorta nerfed sometimes when the QQ gets loud enough) - you can pretty much count on her always being played in 15 to 25% of games, and a 52-54% win rate in almost any patch.

What makes these champion's less problematic then Ahri or Vayne?

And why are the meta and similar arguments fine for Vayne, but ignored for everyone else?

Can we get some explanations about Riot's lack of consistency and/or favoritism.

Sejuani

Ooohh, good call. That was mostly cinderhulks faults, but I think it qualifies.

Afterall, Vayne's mostly cause of BorK anyway.

Viktor recieved massive indirect buffs when they changed AP itemization and didnt nerf his passive. Just an FYI.

And his win rate was still ~50%

Not nearly as extreme as the buff Ahri got due to Luden's, or from them nerfing the ADC items everyone but Vayne needed to rush, and buffing the ones (BorK and PD) that Vayne rushed.

A high win rate can indicate an overpowered champion. But a low win rate does not mean the champion isnt very strong at the moment.

All I was saying is that he absolutely received what I would consider buffs when the items changed, so he doesnt qualify.

JarvanIV , Akali , Blitzcrank , Fiora (old ult nerf), Graves , KogMaw , Leblanc , Jayce , Katarina , Lissandra , Rumble Syndra Talon Many of these were nerfed only because they were used several times in the LCS... I guess only Ahri, Zed, Yasuo and Lee are viable LCS material.

Vayne needed upon release and never more

Viktor was nerfed because he was quickly becoming a very top tier champion, having one of the best (if not the best) late games for a mage and not much other mages could compete.

Sejuani had everything: Damage, tankiness, CC, etc. Only needed Cinderhulk and Liandry for damage and she'd crush carries extremely easily.

Vayne: Honestly, they do need to look at her. Or the very least, take a look at BoRK since that's what made her skip her early-mid game weakness (which doesn't even exist thanks to the extremely forgiving build path BoRK has) and gets a better power spike than carries rushing IE or TF. Also it isn't just her abusing BoRK, it's basically core on a lot of auto attack fighters and assassins.

Yea, Viktor only really bother me because Ahri had been at the spot they were worried he was getting to for a LONG time.

RIP Veigar where his stun was reworked because he was seen as a support in KOREAN LCS.
