PSA: Taking ignite, ksing your ADC, leaving them to die then roaming Mid and ksing them

**IS NOT HOW YOU SUPPORT! **

As a support, your job is to protect your team and get your ADC fed. That means taking exhaust, using it on the fed carry of the enemy, AND PEELING THEM off your team and your carry.

I just had a Blitz who just did that. Took my first kill in the laning phase, then when Rakan flash ulted me along with Eve charm and Xayah damage, he just left me to die. No knock up, no ult, no hook. Just ran to the turret.

Then he proceeded to leave me, went to mid lane, took all of the kills that he helped gank, and left me alone. I couldn't get fed, I could barely get kills during fights because everyone else took them, and when I had a blatant 1v1 kill I was about to last hit, my jungler came in, flashed and took it.

Then they blame me when I can't do anything because of this damn support who left me to myself. During the last fight, Blitz got caught out and during that I get charmed and die, they blame me for doing nothing. I tried but didn't have any peel and we lost.

TL/DR: Learn how to support your team.** Take exhaust, peel for them, and don't be a greedy fuck by feeding your own score instead of helping the team. **

Rant over.

I'm not saying that what your Blitz did was right, but i'd say it depends on the adc.

Trust me i won't shy away from leaving lane if my adc is bad, sometimes the support's help is most useful elsewhere.

On the plus side, my adc will get more exp, lvl up faster, and if i can force the enemy support to follow me, my adc should be able to peacefully farm while i snowball other lanes.

Sometimes i'll leave bot and help snowbal mid, jungler or even top. And if i get myself fed, i'll be able to go back bot and faceroll the enemy team with my advantage.

Although i also try to leave the kills to my team if i know they've got the kill secured.

All that to say that babysitting botlane isn't always the best decision.

Most of the time, it is the best decision. Do you see the meta, here? It's mostly around the bot lane. And with my game- my team wouldn't help the ADC, and we lost the game because of the greedy Blitz who didn't know how to support.

It's one thing to go help for a little bit, but to leave the ADC, ALONE, for over TEN minutes while taking kills for yourself and leaving them alone with NO vision, on top of the enemy having an EVELYNN, I couldn't do shit. That wasn't the best idea, at all.

Supports are not supposed to get fed. They are there to get OTHERS fed and protect them. This guy was blatantly taking them and not providing peel. I watched him the whole game. He went after kills the whole time, and when they were running us down he wouldn't peel at all, just ran to save his own hide.

On the contrary, most of the times that you leave your ADC alone- that leaves the enemy bot lane, jungle, and mid free kills. If they are smart, they jump on the opportunity when they find the ADC alone.

Totally agree. That Blitz needs to learn how to be a real support.

Contraire to popular belief, it's actually better for the support to get the one or two of the first kills. ADC's scale into the late game, and even the early kills will only give them a little boost of damage right away. Support items tend to have a bigger impact right away, and getting that early sightstone is incredibly helpful for the entire team.

And if you got CC'ed by Rakan and then focused down, there wouldn't have been much for the Blitz to even do other than to feed the other team. The fight was clearly lost since you allowed your self to get singled out, so the smart move wouldn't been to cut the lost.

Knowing that your support wasn't around, you should've played smarter, or maybe even help him with the gank. He may not have made the best calls, but you probably could've made better decisions yourself.

How to spot a support main

MysticDreams121 votes

Ahem.

No its not. The ADC needs those early kills better than the support. The support can get their items quick with gold items and assists. That's why they are supports.

I wasn't singled out. Blitz was coming back from one of his LONG mid lane ganks, he was literally almost right by my side. BAM- Rakan flash ult, Eve charm, Xayah on top of me. I wasn't even ahead of the landscape that leads to the tribush (blue team). Blitz? He could have ulted and silenced them- knocked Xayah up to help me get away- exhausted if he had been a real support and taken it but no, he took ignite. Instead- that little Bitch just kept on running. DID NOTHING.

He was full health, he could have hit a few spells than flashed out. It would've given me time to ult and flash away. But nope, that little bitch just ran.

I did play smart. I played on the air of caution when he was at Mid lane ganking Fizz and taking his kills for ten minutes. I stayed near my turret and tried to farm cautiously but Eve had level 6 invisibility then so I couldn't push by myself.

Well, tell me this. What would a team rather have before the 5 minute mark. One person to have a B.F. Sword, or for the whole team to have constant vision of the entire map bottom part of the map.

If you really think it's better for +40 damage above being almost ungankable, then you clearly don't have a firm understanding on the importance of support utility. I suggest playing some games as support. It'll help you play ADC better when you understamd where both sides stand.

Then again, you seem pretty toxic, so I doubt you'll ever even try to improve.

MysticDreams121 votes

Ahem.

I'm a support main. I know where both sides stand.

Ugh.

Most if not all supports can go back for their first back AND GET A STUPID SIGHTSTONE, without taking a kill. I do it ALL THE TIME.

It is VITAL that the ADC get as ahead as they can, they need that B.F. sword over a stupid agility cloak or boots.

Wow. Calling me toxic and saying I can't improve.

That's toxic and rude. I am improving every day. But kinda hard to play well and improve when your team won't help you.

Support main here, one who often takes kills and roams a lot similar to the blitz described by the OP. It's not correct that early kills are better on supports. Gold from kills is not at all different than gold from minions. If gold was better on supports early then teams would let the supports farm for the first 5 minutes. This actually happens sometimes in dota games when a champion needs a blink dagger or something to be effective. The low priority champion will greed for farm early then basically stop farming once they have the item they need. Gold is ok on supports early, but getting adcs multiplicative scaling snowball going is better.

The reason I often take kills is when there's a chance of the enemy getting a counter-kill, escaping, doing enough damage that we have to base instead of pushing and denying a wave, making us chase far enough that a jungler or mid laner could show up and kill us, ect. In a hectic multi person fight, unless we have all the variables fully controlled and the enemy is totally dead to rights I'm not going to stop outputting damage. I've held my final auto and seen something go wrong one too many times to take the risk.

You're spot on about your other points. Some adcs are excellent at playing with roaming supports and manage to get most of the farm with spells from range, and others walk up and trade 1v2. It's a skill that people have to learn. Blitz could have played better but OP certainly could have played better too.

I played as well as I could man. I stayed near my turret when he left cause I couldn't push with the Evelynn jungle who had hit level 6 and was getting fed. Then I went to mid to try to help in team fights and couldn't get any peel for my life, and if we won a team fight, Blitz or the others took the kills. And when I finally was going to get a 1v1 kill, j4 flashed and took it. The game was awful.

With Ashe, she's not a simple run of the go ADC who just gets fed easily. It takes her time to get her damage out because of her Q stacks. I got behind thanks to Blitz, and couldn't get ahead because Xayah was way too ahead thanks to Rakan helping her like a real support should be doing, etc. She doesn't do well with a roaming support AT ALL.

J4, Rene, Fizz were all strong, had multiple kills and more items so they got the kills in fights that I couldn't because I was behind. Then they blame me when I couldn't do anything.

It's fine if you can get a kill secured- like the ADC cant get to it because they are too low, and you can- but to blatantly steal it during a laning fight, then leave your ADC alone to fend for themselves and TAKE EVERY DAMN KILL from the mid laner as well, that is just unsportsman like to its core.

blitz isn't a peel support, he's meant to engage. You ate alot of cc and he couldn't save you so please tell me what you expect him to do.

MysticDreams121 votes

Dude. I play support mostly. I have done it plenty of times. Blitz can peel just as much as he can engage.

Sasogwa2 votes

It's normal for blitz to roam tbh. If you keep dying when he's not there cause u wanna fight them or greed for cs it's your fault. Then the concept of ks'ing is kinda stupid tbh. In general just take the kills in a close fight. You risk someone dying or actually nobody getting the kill if you always try to have your adc get the kill at all cost.

MysticDreams121 votes

Wow. What a way to assume I kept fighting.

If you can read, I said I stayed near my turret because I feared the level 6, quickly getting fed EVELYNN who I couldn't see and had no vision thanks to Blitz.

Not my fault at all.

Ksing is not stupid. It takes kills away from the champions that NEED THEM, and is rude and mean. When that champ is ABOUT TO GET THE KILL, and you take it blatantly, that is unsportsmanlike to the ends of the earth.

It's fine if the champ that needs it CANT GET IT, thats why its called a KILL SECURE, but if THEY CAN, do NOT TAKE IT. Quite simple. People need to learn that!

Optimistic Meta1 votes

The problem is, a lot of champions are slippery. Kayn on 20 HP? whoops he's in the wall. Riven? Her shield's up. Heal just got back up? Ult? You never know when a KS could've actually have been a kill secure.

MysticDreams121 votes

Like I said, it's fine if they can't get to it- being slippery is part of that.

But if they are in reach, and they can GET IT, don't take it.

Simple as that.
