I'm so sorry Caitlyn Mains...

CertainlyT's got his clutches on your champion and soon she'll get Mordekaisered (yes, that's a term.)

NEW PASSIVE; We want to entice Caitlyn into solo lanes to piss off melees so she'll only gain 50% of the experience when near an ally.

The full scope of Caitlyn's changes is actually quite low, and from at least what I've played of it in the last few weeks, she's a lot of fun in interesting ways despite not changing too much.

Malicious Metal5 votes

Since you're doing and ADC update why not include Mordekaiser in it? :^)

IcyPepper1 votes

Because Mordekaiser is a juggernaut, not an ADC.

It's attack damage carry, not bottom lane carry :P

I assume you guys are just going to focus on her gameplay, but IronStylus said she was up for a Visual "Overhaul", is this coming with the changes or is that still a thing for the future?

Honestly, with that Fiora rework, Dear god I hope she doesn't get a VU. I don't want to play as Caitlyn's Grandmother.

When do you think these marksman changes will go live? Or are these too far away to give an expectation? Judging how you picked up traffic prior to the juggernaut changes, I wanna assume this will happen during 5.20? 5.21 or pre season?

I get the impression it's going to be pretty soon. 5.20 or 5.21 is my bet.

JustMyBassCannon1 votes

I would assume this is end of season/pre-season 6 time, considering they're planning on changing Marksmen in general. Caitlyn's not the only one they're fixing, from what I understand, and their items are probably going through changes as well.

Please don't let my AP Caitlyn get touched... That's honestly the most fun I ever have when playing league.

Dextix LT6 votes

Anything that CertainlyT touches turns into shit, its like he has craptouch instead of midas one.

Just do all the changes yourselves, dont include that guy please. I know i will be downvoted ffor this but i hae to say this.

It doesnt matter how big or small the changes are, CertainlyT WILL try to fck it up in his own way.

Soooooooo, How about looking at Cassiopeia? That on the list yet, or are we waiting for this followup for another 20 years...

Honestly even as she is now, maybe some comp buffs until you guys can spend time on her, lower the stack count maybe. Add back the ability of every time you hit a Twin Fang on a champion you get a stack, If multiple targets are poisoned you get stacks for both? Veigar gets 1000 AP at 25 and you won't let cass have 600-700 at 25...

Come on , throw us a bone here

She's still be an irrelevant pick against Vayne who will get through lane fine like she always does and roll your face in mid and late game.

BeMyFriendPlease4 votes

Are you kidding? she'll have true damage on her traps

At LEAST 2 dashes or blinks

Random ass invulnerabilities

Probably a true % max hp damage ult (its a headshot or something?)

and a passive that makes her dash cooldowns decrease every time she is hit because shes a "sniper"... but decreases her attack damage by 1% for balance

Enough with the CertainlyT hating circle jerk. The guys doing a tough job and taking some risks to make champs that aren't so cookie cutter. Sure they don't always work out but how about cutting him a little slack for mistakes due to taking risks. He could play it safe and crank out a bunch of Season 1 depth champs which would be much easier.

Dextix LT1 votes

His champs NEVER work out. Also, you think hes the only one taking risks? Have you been living under a rock! Look at Tahm, look at Bard! Both are unique champions, are they broken like every CertainlyT champion ever made? NO!

There is a difference between taking a risk and then dealing with the consequences and taking a risk and not caring what will happen after (CertainlyT route).

I still wonder why people defend this guy! Does he pay you for defending him?

No she isn't. She's just balanced. Why do LoL players call every champion who isn't overpowered weak?

Because she is weak, her only shining grace is her early game and even that is rather meph. Her mid to late game is easily the weakest compared to every other ADC in the game because she has no reliable steroids in her kit besides her headshot. She doesn't even excel at anything besides long range kill but besides that, she is meph at best.

Besides what she is best at and what makes her unique she is meh? Yes and? You're supposed to be exploiting her strengths and minimizing her weaknesses. Sure she's meh if you are trying to match damage for damage with Vayne or Graves. That's the price she pays for her range and safety.

disregardable4 votes

I watched Dlift's proguide on Caitlyn. He said that:

You should end lane with a 20-30 cs lead. Her late game is fine, her mid game is where she falls through. She has a really weak steroid and can't 1v1 well. During the mid game she should always be grouping. Her traps and range give her fantastic objective control, so she is usually brought for that.

Fiveofswords3 votes

cait is my main adc and I think this summary is perfectly true. Her late game actually isnt bad....maybe its supposed to be on paper but her autoattack range and dash somehow makes it work. I dont know really...somehow its good. Ive beaten late game vayne with lategame cait 1v1 plenty of times. But yeah mid game she has issues.

The cs lead thing...its depending on the support. for example if the opps have soraka support thats painful.

Smefanye1 votes

Caitlyn is really good in lane, people just need to be able to get that balance of harassing safely and cs'ing, which a lot of people have trouble with. Cait's late is also much better since they added the armor pen into her headshot, and as long as the opponent doesn't get the jump on her late she should be fine. Mid is definitely her weakest point though, since unless she has a lead her auto's aren't going to be that strong and she won't be in a position to siege.

Main, not really, but yeah, I do play those champions if I have to ADC, I just don't see the point of Caitlyn right over every other ADC.

WolfChases2 votes

I agree with you that there are much better ADCs than Caitlyn but you are missing the point. Not being THE BEST doesn't means that she's bad, I would rather say there are some ADCS that are over the edge, read Vayne and Jinx and indeed they are only 2 worth marksman picks atm.

Not sure I'd go that far, but yes there is reason they have 60% pick rate between them. Players gravitate towards what is strongest most of the time.

WolfChases1 votes

Exactly.

LaowPing1 votes

I main both and still feel like Caitlyn is good. Mostly because people love to pick Caitlyn if I pick Vayne early. Good Caitlyns make you FEEL every cs you try to take. I find myself worrying less about when to last hit the minion and more about if I can even afford to go for the cs.

WolfChases1 votes

She is good yes but look.

Few days ago I played Caitlyn vs Vayne and I had over 30 minions CS lead and 3-0 score, killed her bard twice and killed her once, I had tier 1 boots, IE and almost finished PD, what happened next is that Vayne with ONLY tier 2 boots and BorK ulted on me out of the bush, missed her condemn, soacked my Q and even tho I didn't miss literally anything she killed me with ease. She was left with close to 30% hp :)

Looking at what he was suggesting in terms of changing Caitlyn, I kind of like the direction he's going. Heading towards a more defensive play style, with more safety then live. I'm fine sacrificing damage for relative safety, since that's typically what I want on an adc.

But, as we all know, once the changes hit PBE, all of the "mains" will show up out of nowhere complaining about the changes / CertainlyT.

Malicious Metal2 votes

Just a heads up; A rioter told us Mordekaiser mains Morde will have more sustained damage, be more tanky and generally stay the same after his rework that was bound to hit the PBE in a month's time. What we got wasn't what we were promised so I'd be skeptical until you see the actual changes.

Still, I hope she'll be better off than good ol' Morde

xl Kirito lx2 votes

If CertainlyT does the same amount of effort with Caitlyn as he did with Mordekaiser, I'll be happy.

Dextix LT1 votes

You will be happy? So you are happy when champions get destroyed and forced to do something?

xl Kirito lx1 votes

Forced is a strong word. He's certainly stronger in a duo lane, but isn't forced. I still believe that Mordekaisers core is there, as is his main concept, his ultimate. I'm still amazed how much they buffed his ult honestly.

In reference to Caitlyn, she has a fun kit, but I do feel like there could be changes that bring her more in line with the core concept of being the "sniper" in league. At the very least, CertainlyT should at least get to voice his opinion before G&B downvotes everything he says without reading it.

Dextix LT2 votes

No, he shouldnt. He created Kalista, he created Darius, he created Yasuo, he created thresh, he reworked mordekaiser. And he never took our feedback even after we read what he said and replied contsructively (this is especially appareant in Morde thread).

I would trust fcking anyone, even Phreak more than CertainlyT.

And yes, Morderkaiser was forced. His q is impposible to use solo because of his immobility, his w wasnt usable in solo lane either. His wave clear was cut down. But people with small brains look at that dragon ghost and say "WOOOOWW DATS COOL REWORK".

Look at his winrates in all other lanes than bot lane. Look at them before the rework and after, you will see a difference.

xl Kirito lx1 votes

I suppose this is a bad time to mention, I actually enjoy Kalista. Annoying, but good for the game, having an ADC that scales with AS instead of crit is a good step imo. I'll admit, it's been ages since I went against a good Kalista, and I rarely play Singed / Volibear, beyond the point though.

I'm starting to assume that for the most part, Riot tends to avoid suggestions pre-rework phase. Similar circumstances happened with Cass, and I'll assume other champions before. In turn, Cass did undergo numerous changes before this live version, and Mordekaiser did get a poor self casted W back. Neither was everything the community wanted, but it was something.

Q was always impossible to use with his mobility. It was mainly wave clear, or excess poke against melees. It was incredibly rare for a ranged mid to be close enough to get splashed by the AOE. The change seems more like a power shift then a nerf imo, but opinions. I'll admit, I do enjoy the rework, more from the fact that he's more based around getting a ghost, and holding it, but dragons pretty cool as well.

Win rates, statistics. I love these things. Which site do you use? I know a lot of people lost faith in Champion.gg after their first mistake with Mordekaiser, and I kind of question if that has happened again. But, assuming that they're accurate, mid mordekaiser has completely fallen off. Now, I have to wonder why. 62% ban rate might be a cause, coupled with the assumption that he's only viable as a duo laner. Still, I doubt that the playstyle completely fell off. I'm not sure this is the best patch to look at statistics for honestly. Riot made a statement somewhere that they believe Darius is fine, and want to wait out, so that people can play against him and realize that.

Again, I'm getting off topic. It's a shame you're on EUNE, and a lot of other people complaining about Morde aren't on NA. I'd be more than willing to play a game or two, and see if Morde was still viable in other lanes.

CertainlyT's champions have always seen a lot of play, and have all been historically strong. I'm starting to get annoyed at this stereotype that CertainlyT can't design champions to save his life, when its been proven - time and again - that he can.

I for one am looking forward to Caitlyn's 2 new passives lol

Oh he can design champions alright but the reason they've seen a lot of play is the same reason why he has so much hatred geared towards him:

His champions are fun to play but are often overloaded overpowered or toxic for several months after release. The balance team gets headaches trying to make them fair and most of his champions aren't fun to play against at all.

In my personal opinion I think he goes in and says "What new thing can I make, Is it fun for the guy playing the champ? yes!" unfortunately he forgets that other people have to fight his mobile double passive abominations.

If every champ was designed by him I'd be content but his designs overshadow/overpower and generally make older champions completely useless.

Dextix LT2 votes

He CAN design champions, doesnt mean he SHOULD.

The problem of his champios are the fact that they dont belong to thi game becaue they are op, their kits are to blame. Darius shits on almost every melle champ and his counterplay is "Dont get close to him". Yasuo shits on almost every ranged champ. Kalista.... Do i even need to say anything? Thresh, the best support in the game because his kit has everything except for heal.

His kits are toxic to the game and its balance.

He can design chaampions, but they will have broken kits.
