I don't really feel that he's weaker, but what happened?

It's 10 damage off though... that's barely anything :U

His point is that when the game is decided early there's no time for Veigar to scale up.

It went from 47% a few days ago to 44% though. His winrate also falls off a tiny bit the longer the game, look at the graph O_ohttp://puu.sh/lAF1f/ef1459dbde.jpg

Champion.gg takes 4 days after the patch goes live to post the data. A few days ago you were looking at patch 5.22 data. Welcome to 5.23 :)

My personal suspicion is that his win rate is so low because of the number of new players playing him right now. 44.8% of players playing Veigar at that rank have less than 5 games on him, with 5.12% having 50-125 games, and 2.84% having more than that. Contrast those ratios (and pie charts) to those of the highest win rate champions mid. You'll notice that they all have a much more well rounded player base, even though many of them have more people playing them.

What's going on is the aftermath of the "Veigar's so OP" circlejerk. The masteries changed, different champions benefited more from them, but people who are still convinced Veigar is freelo are trying to play him... and finding out he's not freelo.

As for falling off at 40+, Veigar's win rate has traditionally fallen about that time at that elo. Many people attribute it to tanks getting tanky enough to ignore him, as well as other damage dealers (like ADCs) being able to kill him in a short time.

Also, every champions win rate tends to 50% as the game goes on. The only games that go for a long time a really well matched - one mistake from either team leads to the loss.

The current popular midlaners are mostly though matchups for lane, which usually wasn't a huge issue as he could outscale them and come back later. Hower, as matches are shorter now and snowballing is a bigger issue, games rarly reach the point where he starts outscaleing and goes for a comeback vs those matchups. Also, no particular high synergie with new masteries.

Asides from games ending sooner, he got hit somewhat hard by the mastery changes. Doesn't get as much AP from the tree, he lost the %bonus AP (which scales multiplicatively with Rabadon's), some AP items got more expensive, and more AD than AP is being played.

Idk, maybe people figured out that he can only ult one enemy and if you pick up a Banshee's Veil you've just bypassed his stun which is his only form of self peel? Or maybe that people aren't really running around playing AP champions right now due to the misconstrued belief that the AP class was somehow gutted.
