"i only gank winning lanes"

that is the STUPIDEST thing i hear junglers say.

winning lanes don't NEED your help. because they're winning. if you're gonna do and say that, then don't get mad when someone who is outmatched in lane loses. part of jungling is going where you're NEEDED. i don't expect you to win people's lanes for them, but you can't be mad at someone if they're losing lane and you just outright refuse to gank for them. especially if they're seeing a lot of enemy jungle pressure too.

good junglers are equalizers. when a lane is behind they go in, help get the lane even, then go where ever else they're needed.

nothing sets me off more than when a jungler sits there and rages at someone who lost lane, and then their retort to them never ganking is "i don't gank losing lanes". if that's the case then shut the hell up because you're not doing what any competent jungler does.

i jungle. and the one thing i know for a fact is that if i see a lane get behind, i focus on that lane so they don't become even more of a liability endgame.

As a plat jungle main, I really REALLY disagree with what you are saying. TBH it is easier to get a kill while ganking a lane that is winning and snowballing the laner.

If you gank a losing lane, chances are both you and the laner MIGHT die, resulting the enemy winning lane to snowball even more.

this.. I had a game where i am in bot lane as leona with cait (double early monster), end up winning so hard. and usually, when people lost a lane they'll "Jungler plz help", then he came, and we got a kill, almost double though.

Then I suggest not losing your lane.

Have you tried helping a losing lane with the recent jungle and jungler item changes? It's hard, sometimes too hard. I'd rather have a jungler tell me that he isn't going to help me at risk of screwing himself (and the lane), because honestly, it's the smart thing to do. Smart will win games.

Now, if the jungler refuses to gank for you when you're pushed to your tower, the enemy is staying with 10% HP for some reason, and his flash is down? Well, that's different.

That's also something that only bad junglers will say. A winning lane doesn't need ganks, although you should gank for the sake of pushing when the opportunity arises.

On the other foot however, don't expect a jungler to try and gank a losing lane. If my 0/4 Rumble just lost turret to the 6/1 Riven, I'm not going to try and go up there to save his ass. My efforts would be put to better use trying to get my mid or bottom laners fed and pushed as far up the lane as I can than to try and save a lane that probably can't recover at that point anyways.

Sometimes equalizing the field means allowing one lane to flail while you get another ahead.

Nothing helps equalize a lane more than wasting time on a trash player whos 0-3 and going to "help" and getting counter jungled 2v2 and now your jungler is behind too.

If dragons up and botlane is winning I still want my jungler to gank botlane even if top is losing. I would rather have 3 fed teammates (Support, ADC, and Jungle) + stacked dragons than to have all my lanes be 'equal'.

I'd ALWAYS rather go to the winning lane than go to my losing lane.

Why, you might ask? Answer:

Sure, going to that 0-4 botlane might get them a kill. But it also might not. They are clearly behind already, which means that they're obviously the worse duo or the enemy jungler has spent a lot of time down there. Since they are down in experience in gold, I have no way of dealing with a countergank which would 100% result in my death. Heck, being down 4 kills in gold could also cause us to be 2v3 killed resulting in an even worse deficit.

Now lets look at the alternative. That 0-4 botlane is doing poorly, but my mid is up 15 CS and playing pretty well. I go mid and maybe I get a kill, but at worse I put even more pressure on the player who's having a rough game. Maybe it puts them on tilt, but at worst it gives my strong player an even bigger advantage. They can take that advantage and kill their turret, or get a solokill. Doing either of these opens up a huge opportunity for them to roam. So now we can send 4 people to that bottom lane and turn the tide of battle, or just go into the enemy jungle and take all of their gold and experience away.

Nope its perfectly valid to not gank losing lanes if they're losing too hard. I will not countergank lanes that are more than 2 kills behind the opponent, because then the opposing laner is up a major item, likely 2 levels, and can probably 1v2 or 2v3. It is better to get the lanes that are fed to be dominant enough to turn the tide of the game.

For example, if I'm playing jungle and J4 top is sort of winning against a Riven or Fiora, though not dominating, but our mid Ziggs is feeding against Fizz, it is better to get J4 to be extremely fed, since a fed J4 can instantly delete someone with his burst as well as tank, while a Riven or Fiora that's behind is useless due to their squishiness and low utility. Meanwhile, Ziggs can come back with his waveclear and still be useful with his utility and poke, while a fed Fizz has to make plays to crush other lanes in order to snowball even further, and he can't do that to at least top if J4 is fed.

It depends how badly the lane is losing, and the position the enemy laner is in.

You reach a point where it's just not worth going to a losing lane and have a better chance of effecting the game by snowballing a lane that's pulling even or already ahead, or pushing out enemy laners to take objectives. It sucks trying to explain that in game, but sometimes if you are getting stomped you just have freeze and try to farm back into the match.
