There are two sides in a story,

When I do play with lower elo friends in norms, I do get harassed by teammates when im trying to have fun. They say stuff like "Diamond x and cant even win lane!" or stuff like "How are you not carrying when youre high elo?" etc, etc. Are everyone like that? certainly not. Just because youve had bad experiences doesnt mean that all of the player above your elo are self entitled assholes.

Control your prejudices.

^ This.

I have played with higher elo peeps in norms and for some reason the enemy loves to goad them if they aren't playing perfectly.

######Also hi Fish!

chipndip13 votes

Agreed.

You can get shit for a lot of nonsense, even when you're off-role/off-champ, having a bad game/string of games, or just tired.

Succubús GF1 votes

The thing is, this happens frequently. It wasn't JUST this occurrence. But I don't play with diamonds enough to have a proper sample size. However, ive seen how many talk and I'm allowed to make a claim supported by a general consensus that higher elo players have a really shitty way of talking down to people

Sexy Fish Nami1 votes

There is no problem if youre talking about your experiences, some people get it rough and some people doesnt.

However...

Might it be intentional or unintentional, by doing this post, you are spreading hate on ALL the higher elo players. Have you ever heard of the proverb "A few bad apples spoils the bunch"? This might be whats happening. Not only that, but you are saying that ALL the people in high elo are like this, wich is just as bad as saying that black people do X or white people are X.

Now, im not trying to call you a racist, dont take me wrong, and im sure you are not trying to spread hate among us, however, be careful on your prejudice, theres already enough hate in this game. Dont contribute to it.

This happens to me, when my friends play aram they flame me for underperforming. My friends play mostly aram, so when I get lucian or something and I underperform, I get flamed. "THIS IS WHAT DIAMOND LOOKS LIKE??" and I always try to justify myself saying things like "I GOT DIAMOND PLAYING WARWICK JUNGLE, NOT LUCIAN", they still flame me. It's a hard life, but it happens.

Well the point of rank is to win, aka tryhard. So yeah...

SirTeemoMushroom1 votes

not really.. after all it's a game , there's times i go full "i don't give a shit" mood on ranked , and still win but i don't try hard ... and for 4 years i am diamond 5-1 depends on the meta mostly .. #prayforteemo

With all due to respect but if you dont want to give a shit PLEASE dont queue up for ranked. The point there is to win, no matter what.

SirTeemoMushroom3 votes

i said i play with the i don't give a shit mood .. not trolling .. lose or win i will be cool ... it's a game after all just pixels on a pc screen

Sir Fuzzi2 votes

You two are on different pages. 'Tryharding' in VanaQuish's case is just trying to win the game and making sure you're working with, not against the team.

Your 'Tryharding' seems to be putting everything to the nines, getting your knuckles sweaty and riding every play like it's the last in the game.

Neither are merited or discredited or anything, it's just that I don't think you're 'not trying to win' in your don't-give-a-shit. You're just not counter-picking, watching everyone's builds and reacting and monitoring every lane and objective like a hawk to keep your team abreast of things. I think that's fine, if you're fighting for your lane and not leaving teammates out in the cold just because, then play how you want.

It's when people start deliberately causing losses that we get mad, and people usually do that then look at us trying to win and say 'tryhard.'

Realistically, in most cases it's used it's probably just a cover-up for their own shitty plays.

SirTeemoMushroom1 votes

bro.. you are talking about a video game lul
if you are so in loved with the tryhard shit , i wonder why you are not challenger .. and i saw a lot of times people carrying 1v9

chipndip13 votes

But he had a 16:1 kda, making him involved in almost every kill you guys had in that entire game. He clearly was making moves you weren't noticing/giving him credit for at 7/3/43 as Rakan.

Kalista was also Bronze 1. I don't know how she was able to become a problem...

Succubús GF2 votes

Its not hard to get assists with rakan if you are just going in. He was going in all the time and demanding me to follow him. So when I ulted in as eve I got blown up hard but managed to kill ahri or kalista. Also you can kinda stop the rank shaming ive seen a b5 player dumpster a plat player before. Not to mention she got really fed because jinx wasn't focusing her in fight and instead focused the tank.

You fail to understand: He went in, got a shit ton of kills for your team, and didn't die. He clearly knew what he was doing. If this was an enchanter, it'd be a different story, but Rakan puts his neck out any time he uses most of his kit, so a score of 7/3/43 clearly shows that, yes, this guy WAS doing a ton of heavy lifting. He was asking you to do your part.

Also you can kinda stop the rank shaming ive seen a b5 player dumpster a plat player before.

You really shouldn't have allowed a Bronze 1 Kalista to run you over. Not apologizing for it. Or, rather, given that Diamond Rakan backing up about 70% of your team's kills, I would be a bit ticked if I was in that guy's position if I couldn't rely on my team to not get popped by a Bronze adc.

Not to mention she got really fed because jinx wasn't focusing her in fight and instead focused the tank.

Marksmen shoot the highest priority target they can reach from safety. If that isn't Kalista, that isn't Kalista. ASSASSINS/DIVERS disrupt and/or kill back line carries. Then again, Idk the exact positioning of Kalista and Jinx in each fight, so I can't give the most solid commentary. Still, that's your primary job, not hers.

Succubús GF1 votes

It's really not hard considering you wont get hit while their charmed I'm not saying he did NOTHING, I'm just saying he wasn't contributing as much as he could've if he was "carrying" like he was boasting about.

So a bronze player cant be decent when fed? Sorry I cant do much when the support throws every shield in existence on kalista and kalista has lifesteal anyway/ League of shields anyone?

IT'S SEVENTY PERCENT.

Like, I just had a game where I was playing adc. I had a Lux support who I clearly told "Given they have a Galio and a Yasuo (which is Lux's biggest counter, save Zed), maybe we shouldn't go with Lux support. Just saying". She locks that shit in, doesn't help me at all against a Cait/Nami lane while I'm getting myself bullied by a fish out of water, and fed kills to the enemy while trying to trash talk me. Wanna know how I got the first kill in the lane? I had to burn my heal to save her (who'd had gotten caught up in some cc), body block a Cait ult, AND kill Cait with that pos doing practically nothing to help me. I ended up going 3/0/1 before that game ended, with my entire team being useless, save myself.

That's just me getting 3 kills and 1 assist. This Rakan is SEVEN KILLS AND FORTY-THREE ASSISTS. He was a part of about every major fight you guys got a kill in, all while keeping his deaths to a minimum, especially in comparison to the rest of you. Why are you trying to down play his work trying to carry you?

So a bronze player cant be decent when fed? Sorry I cant do much when the support throws every shield in existence on kalista and kalista has lifesteal anyway/ League of shields anyone?

As an assassin, shouldn't you have kept that from happening? Like, it's a Bronze Kalista. I doubt they know about wave control or any of that nonsense. They're free gold. Put them down and then close out before they catch back up. And seeing how you put this reply before I even got to you messing up the primary role of an assassin, that means you clearly know that you messed up, and you're just tossing blame.

Also kalista was in range for jinx, she just prioritized the chogath with no armor pen.

I can't comment either way. I wouldn't know and I don't honestly trust your testimony on the subject.

Succubús GF1 votes

You just described something completely different. He legit rarely used locket and only used redemp for himself but whatever. Your "lux support scenario" Could very well prove my point that assists aren't hard to get as a support. I|f lux lasers from a distance andc gets 5 assists for them dying was that so hard? In comparison rakan charming and jumping to an ally farther away isn't hard to do as he lets the rest of us fight. Not to mention I went bot more than anything and therefore nabbed him many assists, considering I had 39 kill participation? The point is you weren't in the game and therefore you wouldn't know right? Ofc you wouldn't but you are trying to derail from him being toxic. But whatever floats your boat.

She DIED 15 TIMES. How many times can I kill her? Tell me how many? And again here you are assuming bronze are just automatic bots that are incapable of playing . How funny that you are D3 and proving my point. Its pathetic honestly and while I know you are crying because you are a support main you should bear in mind I have mastery 7 on the majority of supports so sue me if I'm critical of toxic supports who boast about being diamond and carrying/

Lux can just shield me and get an assist. She ended 0/4/6 or so herself. You can tell she didn't do well because she obviously didn't.

In Rakan's case, Rakan needs to put himself in harm's way for everything in his kit, save his Q and passive. I'm talking because I already get the logistical difference between a back line support's play and a catcher's/tank's play. 7/3/43 for a catcher or tank support is phenomenal play, at least as far as anyone that's going to comment can tell. If you REALLY wanna change someone's mind, provide a replay or two so I can see what's going on in more detail, but from what I can see, you're putting blame on the last guy that needs it.

In comparison rakan charming and jumping to an ally farther away isn't hard to do as he lets the rest of us fight.

You seriously need to stop downplaying Rakan's game play. If you want "easy" game play, there's ACTUALLY easy champions to look at. Sona, Kayle, Soraka, Janna...but not Rakan. Your team comp is also built to rely on him to hold your team fight together, given you hardly have cc between the top, mid, and jg picks.

Not to mention I went bot more than anything and therefore nabbed him many assists, considering I had 39 kill participation? The point is you weren't in the game and therefore you wouldn't know right? Ofc you wouldn't but you are trying to derail from him being toxic. But whatever floats your boat.

He has a higher kill participation than you do. He has the most in that entire game. Your kill participation doesn't refute that point.

He tried to carry you guys. You guys ended up falling off because you have two assassin picks and a juggernaut pick in a long game. He got frustrated. Like, what about anything refutes that notion?

She DIED 15 TIMES. How many times can I kill her? Tell me how many? And again here you are assuming bronze are just automatic bots that are incapable of playing .

The point is to kill her and end the game. Assassins hate late game. Assassins are anti-carry picks. They don't scale. They're built to prevent scaling champs from scaling. Part of that Kalista being Bronze is that she died 15 times, so she's not getting gold quickly. Use that to your advantage. Rally for objectives and continue to push to close out rather than stalling.

...and don't build Duskblade into a freaking Cho'Gath? Where's your Void Staff? You have all this ap damage and you build Duskblade? Why? Your main damage type has no pen and they got 3 champs with MR. You also have mobi boots so you can't escape as well in late game fights. You CLEARLY weren't built for the late-game, here.

How funny that you are D3 and proving my point. Its pathetic honestly and while I know you are crying because you are a support main you should bear in mind I have mastery 7 on the majority of supports so sue me if I'm critical of toxic supports who boast about being diamond and carrying/

No one gives a FLYING fuck about how many mastery 7 champs you got. I personally only have mastery 7 on Sona, Nami, Jinx, Ahri, and Lux. Who cares? If anything, I'm actually being critical cause I'm trying to help you when it comes to the mindset of players like these, as well as the little things you could have done to make this game a bit better. No one's crying or salty, but I'm trying to get you to see the point.

Good because you shouldn't. You attempted to derail an argument by starting another one and failed to realize you proved my point about diamond god complexes. I don't honestly give a shit about your testimony regardless [katarina-love]

  1. I didn't rank shame you. I said you should have beaten a Bronze adc. That's me having expectations of you, not saying you're bad because you're Gold.

  2. Look at MY first post. I said you probably played in a way that explains at least a bit of the flaming. At 20/14, in comparison to a support, who's not that tanky and literally dives into groups of opponents, who managed to contribute to 50 kills for only 3 deaths, is this assumption wrong? The problem is that you're so defensive that you're not seeing the forest through the trees. You kill someone, get 300 gold, reset your gold value, then die. 14 times. That's NOT what you should be looking to do as an assassin. Could this contribute to people catching back up and stealing your game away? Obviously, but you're focused more on someone that's mad at you for handing away gold on a platter rather than looking at why someone would be upset to begin with.

But apparently us Diamond folk are just meanie-heads, including myself. I should have just kept to myself instead of trying to offer some perspective on the situation so this could be better avoided.

And yes, you tried to blame him for "not using Locket/Redemption enough". You were trying to deflect to justify how much you died. Don't try to slip that one under the rug.

Again, one last time before you drive-by downvote this with some Ahri sticker

Nothing warrants excessive flame except for maybe inting. Sorry assassins fall off and as a result die multiple times. It wasn't JUST me they were flaming. The diamond player was flaming the SHIT out of the other players I was just stating what was said TO ME. But no no, supports could never do wrong. Nope.

Honestly, you have to consider that they are actually better than you, so you can't just write off what they say as useless information. If you are given good advice, you should take it. When I smurf in gold and tell them to take a certain objective over another, and they don't do it, it kinda triggers me, because I am better (not trying to sound cocky, just saying facts), them blatantly not listening is super ignorant.
