Now I remember...

Every time I quit League, after some time has passed (sometime a month, sometime a few years) I think, "I love that game, why haven't I played it?"

Every time I cut it on, the flashbacks instantly hit me. I think I'm going to set this post as my homepage as a reminder for when I think I want to League again.

1st game back, I'm last pick on the 1st pick team and I happened to get my favorite lane... TOP!

So I pick MonkeyKing (my love since S2) and wait for the enemy team to have their last pick... Karthus.

Enemy team composition is Karthus Graves Sivir Braum Xerath against our MonkeyKing MonkeyKing Draven Sona Ryze

I was confused af at the loading screen until I saw Karthus with summoner 14 summoner 12 and Graves with summoner 4 summoner 11

So here I am as Wukong against Karthus top (without shoes) and he starts spamming his Q. After he Q'd about 15 times (with me being target of roughly 10 and 6 of them hitting me) I realized Karthus still had every drop of his mana at level 1 startingitem 1056 and his item 2010 still present.

Not that it's a hard matchup at all but it's boring and I hate the way I have to play to dodge his skills, farm, be careful not to let him AA me too much and kill him. It's frustrating as playing Elimination mode in For Honor when the guy has a trap feat on the ground, standing on the opposite side of it with a projective and AOE feat. Like, get good and stop trying to cheese. Even if you do kill me, nobody is going to respect your playstyle.

Then we have the fact that even though Ryze was present (bought items) he never left the fountain and we "remade" at the 3 minute mark.

So yeah... now I remember why I stopped playing League and it only took 3 minutes of gameplay. Troll enemy top laner and and AFK ally mid laner.

Oh no! You had to dodge Karthus' Q. That must be rough.

Just annoying. A good Karthus only uses his Q around low health minions.

In mid lane perhaps. In top lane, where Karthus is against a melee champion, he can abuse natural range self and use it to poke.

You're telling me it wasn't Karthus jungle???????

Also, you put Wukong twice in your team comp. Who is the 5th champion? Just curios, not that it matters.

Then this might not be the game for you. It gets better once you know how to play.

1v1, $20 worth of RIOT points, let me know when you're ready to tell me to "Get good"

Rules

  1. You have to use a primary mage and it has to be a caster.
  2. You have to use top laner summoner spells (I'll check your match history to verify) one of which has to be TP and the other can't be flash.

Add me in-game, I'm ready whenever you are Mr. Pro

Karthus top is no longer troll tbh, it's good against most match-ups outside of Swain and Maokai. Maybe Jayce if he's really good.

Karthus top is never good. I can't think of a single top laner he'd actually win lane against. The guy had ignite/to

Even with Darius I could just flash in and take full advantage of that.

You ever actually play against a Karthus top as a Melee champ? He can stay back at max range whilst landing Isolated Q's, and still manage to keep away from the apprehend. He can run Full Penetration to take care of the MR you'd build, run TP/Flash and he doesn't even really have to change his build. Not only that, but because it's top, it's not as easy to gank him as opposed to mid.

There's a good reason why at a couple times the past 2 season he's been #1 Win rate at top :P
