Jungle or support should be call makers in most cases.

Saw a similar thread being downvoted into the ground because the guy comes off as a pompous ass. However, I think he has a point. I'm a jungle main, so this may be biased, but please feel free to have a friendly discussion.

A good jungler keeps track of every lane, the enemy jungler, objectives, and buffs. Knowing this, they should be the one calling for ganks, they should make the baron calls or dragon calls since they have smite, and they should be the overall call maker for the team most of the time.

I think support can do the same, since they're a much more passive role in lane and can afford to look around more often.

Please, this isn't a "holier than thou" post. All I'm proposing is that jungler is the best role to make shotcaller due to the nature of their role.

Discuss peacefully.

Yes, and a bad jungler mucks around topside while you are pinging dragon when there is short period where it's free. Then proceeds to complain that drag is never warded after the enemy team 5 man bumrush sweeps the area and casually takes drag.

Callmakers are generally decided as the game goes based on good pings and plays. Smart people follow good calls. It's not role inherent. Generally this does come down to jungle, support and certain champs with specific kits like Singed that have the clarity of mind to keep track of map movements and timers better because they aren't busy with the nitty gritty like cs'ing cleanly.

So, yes. But with a grain of salt.

That argument fits for every lane though. Obviously if the person seems like they're not playing smart, or making good calls, they shouldnt be making calls. My stipulation was a "Good jungler."

ALso, while writing this I was thinking of a more organized team with voice chat. Not so much solo queue, since anyone trying to make calls in solo queue is going to be ignored/flamed lol

The wierd thing about league is people are so toxic to shotcallers. Its not even bad calls. you could make a really good call and you get an ace without losing a single guy and go to win the game. People will still hate you. (this is just in league which is weird. In CSGO i can speak up and make calls and people just say "ok lets do it" but in this fucking game everyone hates the shotcaller)

So ive found that you should never try and make yourself "The Shotcaller" You should make sure you shotcall things that are defined to your role (as a jungle main myself I usually make my job to call dragon and baron takes) while i allow people like the tanks and supports to make engage calls.

EDIT: This is how I handle a soloQ environment

League community is toxic to everyone. That being said, In the small amount of experience I have in other games such as csgo, its still toxic, just not at the same level.

SoloQ I usually stay quiet and play carry junglers that can solo drag/burst turrets (Nocturne MasterYi Udyr JarvanIV )

In teams with voice chat I'm the shot caller 90% of the time because my people respect my jungling/game sense.

Everybody should be learning to shit call. In every game I play, regardless of my role, I ping the objectives we should for next and speak the strategy.

The problem comes when the laners are calling for baron/dragon at inopportune times. Enemy jungle up with smite, or allied jungle no smite topside.

When the laner calls for a dragon then gets it stolen, its the junglers fault for not being there, even if I ping smite-59seconds.

IMHO

I don't necessarily think there are specific roles that should be making the calls. The main issue would be calculating when is the right time. For instance, I am a Mordekaiser main and I am always trying to figure out when it's a good time to go for drag. If the mid lane or bot lane are losing, you do not want to go into drag while all the champions in the opposing team are alive and you have not clue where their jungler is. However, if one of the enemies is dead and everyone on your team is full on hp, then it might be the right time, and anyone that is aware of this could make the call. Same applies to any objective.

When talking about ganks. I guess the lanes make the call base on the HP of the enemy. I don't see why not call for jg if the enemy is pushing all the way to your tower with 30% hp. But if this is not the case, then ganking it should be whenever the jg deems the right time.

I hate people that think the jg is responsible for winning their lane, or responding to every single enemy gank.
