Heimerdinger unhealthy gameplay

He basically spends mana to have the AI do all the work for him. He just lays down his turrets and sits back and if you get too close hi just stuns you and then the turrets focus you and push you back again. Is it really healthy for a champ to have the computer do all the work for him?

Also, I have to mention that any way you try and trade is always a win with him. You need to AA the turrets, they focus you and it's a free trade for him. You need to use abilities to kill the turrets, you go OOM and it's still a free trade for him.

Still healthier than Kalista

At least Kalista has to land AA's. Heim doesn't even need to be in the enemies range to deal ridiculous amounts of damage.

Why are you sitting inside his turret range?

It is not like he is the only champion that can deal damage from ridiculously far away.

He is a pain in the ass, but has actual weaknesses, which is more than many "Meta" champions.

Do you recommend not destroying his turrets then? Cause how I see it, destroying his turrets are the only way to push your lane. Either way, he'll trade you.

I recommend avoiding fighting him and just farm.

He is a lane bully, thats his job. He falls off later in the game because his turrets are way easier to walk out of.

Yes, he is annoying as fuck, but it isnt different from facing other lane bullies.

You have to respect his zone. If Heimer sets his turrets, you shouldnt just try to fight him, at least not without a plan.

He is literally the one champion in the game that is entirely countered by walking away. Later in the game, you should force fights away from his turrets.

If you need to fight him in lane, ignore his turrets because he will just set more. Wait for their lasers to be off, get a few quick hits in (Preferably while your minions are there to draw aggro) and walk away. His E is incredibly hard to land a stun with and W doesnt deal much damage if he doesnt hit most rockets.

Away from his turrets? You mean, pushed under your tower? Theres only two ways to force fights in lane. Under your tower, or under his tower. He places his turrets smack in the middle of the lane. You either cross that line, or he has to cross it. And I'm sure as heck he isn't going to cross that line.

Remember that he doesn't counter all mid laners. Here's a few champions that I've used against him, they work really well.

Karma : You can usually kill all 3 of his turrets with one Mantra Q, she's probably his biggest counter simply due to the fact that she can quickly shutdown all of his turrets before engaging with her Snare + more Q spamming. Also, her shield can block most of the damage his poke does.

Cassiopeia : Everything she has is AoE except her Machine Gun, I mean, "fangs". Try using your Smoke Grenades, I mean, poison, on his turrets and go Rambo on him after they're down. Also I haven't experimented, but I wonder if her ultimate effects his turrets? She's pretty hard for Heimer to fight since she can very quickly disable his turrets and blow up Heimer.

Kayle : What I do is simply all-in him post-6. I don't poke the turrets down however, I simply just dodge his Stun Grenade and all in him. After I get really low, I simply ult and clean him up. Usually with her ult + heal/movement speed, you can ignore pretty much his entire combo rotation and most of his turret damage. And since her E has AoE, while you're hitting Heimer in the face with a Ranged Sword it also does splash damage on the turrets.

Azir : Soldiers > Turrets. He can all-in Heimer post-6 and is just a lot stronger. On top of that, his scaling is colossally better in comparison.

Syndra : I've never seen Syndra do that poorly against Heimer, or at least while I played her. Her Q counters his turrets, she has a better and more reliable stun/knockback thingy nobody can figure out how to use, and she can just instakill him post-6. I believe you can throw his turrets back and also throw them at him too? I don't remember, I haven't played her in months.

Yep thats heimer. Place turrets and win lane, you aren't gankable if you just kite around and throw spells. But is considered weak because you can flash on him when his turrets aren't set up and kill him before he can do anything. Regardless I still think hes pretty toxic. He is basically unbeatable if he has 3 turrets in a bush with ult and hourglass.

Boomerangbro1 votes

Exactly, the AI will do all the work for him. An example was a previous game I had with an enemy Heim. He was in mid, so four of us decided to gank him. He ran for the bushes near the river and immediately popped his hourglass. We were met by three turrets and his ult. 2 got instantly killed and then when his hourglass was up he popped flash and ignite onto another teammate and secured the triple. His rockets gave him the quadra. Like seriously, he can do over 2000 damage while in stasis, which is ridiculous.

Incredibly fed mage kills squishies that face-checked a brush.

What a surprise.

A lot of mages would have murdered all four of you without activating Zhonyas or Summoners in that scenario. Annie would have done the exact same thing in two spells while stunnin you.

Boomerangbro2 votes

Annie has to press buttons. Heimer doesn't

Matezoide1 votes

He used Zhonya, his 4 turrets, grenade and summoners in your example.

Sounds like he pressed a lot of buttons, especially when two of these skills are skillshots.

Heimer obviously saw your team, led them to an obvious trap and got a Quadra because he was fed. Working as intended.

If you can, pick syndra or malzahar into him. Syndra vs heimer is actually the saddest lane in the game possibly. She throws his turrets at his turrets so basically he has 2 spells as long as she is around. And space aids will probably one shot the turrets or get pretty close. A good yasuo can kill all the turrets level 1 if he starts e.

I think heimer's better top against melle champs that can't kill his towers easy. Nasus is actually amazing against him in top lane though, cause spirit fire is op. If nas maxes spirit fire first It sacrifices a bit of stacks, but he can one shot heimers turrets and 4-5 shot heimer with it. This is without ap too. If you wanted to play ap nas just to troll heimer it would most definately give him a hard time.

I literally stopped playing Riven AND Irelia because every single mother effing time I picked one of them, the enemy would pick Heimerdinger... The most horrible experiences of my league of legends life

I feel the issue has more to do with his tremendous health regen: Heimerdinger is all about setting up a personal fortress from which he can poke and CC enemies, and if anyone tries to breach his defenses without taking them down first, they're going to suffer. Ideally, the counterplay to that should be to take down his turrets before he can set more up again, poke him, and kill him when he's weak, but his regen pretty much negates all poke against him and his turrets, especially in lane. I feel that's one relic from his old kit that Riot should've gotten rid of when they reworked him, and I'd rather he had a buff that increased his survivability from within his defenses (e.g. gain a brief movespeed buff when taking champion damage, buff refreshes faster when Heimerdinger damages champions with his inventions), than one that makes him auto-win any kind of war of attrition (plus it's one of the game's few remaining invisible stat auras).

>Not mentioning the absurd damage on his ult rockets. Enjoy being 100 to 0'd by one ability if he catches you anywhere without minions.
