How to lane against Darius as a melee champion?

He destroy pretty much most melee champions in lane. I am a lane bully champion that also outscales into the late game. He can destroy other juggernauts in lane. He can destroy tanks in lane. He only struggles against ranged top laners and Riven/Fiora.

How to lane against Darius as a melee? He E’s you and with that bullshit hitbox it pulls you eventhough he missed. He uses E + W and now you have 0 chance to dodge his Q. Why does Darius Q reduce to 5 second CD at rank 5? He can just spam low mana cost Q all game for free missing health heals.

My biggest problem with Darius is his passive. His passive does more stuff than an entire old champion kit combined. Why does he get free bonus AD for hitting someone 5 times? He is a lane bully champion but don’t worry, he gets 230 free AD for hitting a tank 5 times in the late game. He also gets instant 5 stack transfer rather than rebuilding 5 attacks on each target.

Darius' weak point is quick trades. He needs to stack his passive and lock you down a bit to deal dmg, so your main priority is to avoid his E, which always leads to a 90% slow W. From what I see, you mainly play Morde, Gangplank, and Aatrox. Of those 3, Morde's your best bet. Darius only exerts pressure on others melees because they risk getting grabbed by him when farming. Both Morde and Aatrox can minimize that issue through ranged waveclear, but, in the case that you do grabbed, Morde one-ups Aatrox because his claw can push Darius off and create space.

Good luck playing GP into him though. Your barrels have a very high CD early on, so little ranged waveclear and GP can't trade autos either. Your best hope is to drop a barrel at your feet and just let him push to you. Only take risks when your oranges are up, because that's your only escape from him if he grabs you.

Your champions specifically aside, mobility allows you to say no to his entire kit. If he uses Q or E, dodge it then jump atop of him and he auto-loses.

Morde isnt that great either, since the nerfs to his damage.

rinse+repeat. i usually win this lane unless there's a jungler babysitting him

also don't bother getting tanky. get triforce instead

The only problem with this strategy is if the darius doesn't fall for that gimmick. For instance, if darius (and assuming they are both even) merely sits in minion wave and last hits cs, garen either loses a lot of cs or is force to confront darius for farm.

All darius has to do is start by autoing. If garen Qs, then you just walk in the direction that garen will be running to while the silence is up. once it's done, you auto-W him or just W if in range, or you pull him, then auto-W. From there just keep whacking him and Q when only you need to (so that garen doesn't get the necessary space to run away while darius is either silence or his pull is down. If garen Q's AND tries to follow up with E, then it's a big time death sentence for him. This will one 100% of trades against garen assuming: darius is even slightly behind, no jgler influence in the fight, you are no further than middle of the lane, and you don't take too much needless minion aggro early on. And contrary to what people say about garen vs darius scaling into late game, darius will always win the 1v1 if played and built correctly, even at full build. Garen only scales better because of his late game ult potential on carries and his ability to survive and insane amount of damage for a duration, and being able to retreat and heal, and split push better than darius.

If the Darius is any good you need to take phase rush in this matchup as Garen. If you do, though, you can generally survive laning phase and go pretty even.

Tryndamere can do pretty well against Darius too, the only way it can really go bad is if he pulls you out of your spin, but even that is generally not terrible after level 6 if you have ult as long as you're roughly even in gold.

DO NOT RUSH ARMOR. Must people build cloth armor or two against him thinking it will work but it doesn't because of his passive armor pen plus conqueror. Rushing item 3067 will go along way against him. Also he is from the same twisted mind that created these degenerates Zoe Yasuo Thresh Akali

well actually a cloth armor early on isn't a bad pickup when he has very little armor pen. especially if you can get short bursty trades on him before he can proc conqueror.
