its really hard not to be toxic in ranked restrictions.

like i have a vested interest in winning normals because i NEED them to get back into ranked. but no one else gives a shit, and fucks around and makes me have to play MORE games so i can reach my 30 wins in normals. but i can't get angry because if i do, thats a longer restriction. wouldn't be a big deal, but oh my god matchmaking in normals is SO terrible. its a joke how bad they are. why am i getting a couple bronze 1's and 2 silver 5's on my team, but the enemy team gets mostly s3-g3's on their teams?

im trying really really hard not to get angry and be toxic, and im trying to fix my behavior, but when I constantly get lower ranked people on my team against a bunch of people higher ranked, its frustrating. i also get troll picks and all around "i don't really want to win" picks like kalista support, double bronze 5 jungle, or something stupid like that.

there is no sympathy for a toxic, i get it. but im trying to change and this extremely awful system riot has set in place is only making it harder.

That's kind of the point -- to simulate a ranked game, where you also have a vested interest in winning. This way, you get practice not being toxic in a (relatively) stressful environment.

I mean, let's look at it logically. There WILL be people things that will make you mad, when you play ranked. We all get that. The trick is to not rage, even though you're mad. To remind yourself that no matter how mad you are, it just isn't productive to write that stuff in chat. Scream at your screen? Fine. QQ on the forums? Fine (although if you're negative I'll downvote you. Note: I upvoted this post). Just don't type it in chat, if you want to win, because being toxic in chat makes your teammates play worse.

So, knowing that you WILL get mad in ranked, and that you WILL get mad in the normals you're playing to get back into ranked, do you think looking at it as practice not being toxic even when you're mad, could help you change?

One thing additionally: Don't worry too much about rank. I recently played a normal game where myself (gold), a silver, a gold 5, a dia 4, and a dia 1 (well, he's dia 5 right now from decay) played against 4 diamonds and a challenger. Our gold 5 jayce mid won lane against their challenger nid (although nid mostly caught up later).

Because their Normals MMR is roughly the same. That's it.

I understand why Riot keeps Normals and Ranked MMR's separate, but it does lead to some frustrating situations sometimes.

I'm kind of on the opposite end here. I'm playing ranked and got put down real hard by a player that kept calling me names for "Not carryign hard enough" despite me not feeding.

It's not an easy world we live in, I wish you luck getting back to ranked.

ya, if you weren't toxic in the start, you wouldn't need to go through this, but I do agree that normal matchmaking needs to be improved. a diamond player could have really bad normal mmr and play with some friends and just destroy because they don't often play normal. just try to have fun with the games since you won't win everyone and you won't lose everyone so the restriction won't last forever, even if it feels like it will.

The system is fine. You just have to not take it so personally. No matter how bad your team is, they WILL be more likely to win if you remain positive. The only thing that is worse for a team than a feeder is a toxic player.

while there may not be any way too help with toxic people i recommend playing only the champions you're good at in teambuilder, that way you can leave if there are troll picks and always get what you're good at.

that doesn't lessen my ranked restrictions though. only draft normals does. and its ridden with trolls/bad matchups everywhere.

they make you go through draft normals games? that's rough. Find some buddies to play with if you can

Agreed. They shouldn't even care about toxicity, because WORDS. ARE. WORTHLESS. If you let a few insults hurt you deep and hard, then you need therapy or euthanasia.

I understand the anger, I'm plat and I get a whole team of unranked/bronze and I'm like what's with my ELO in norms? I don't rank very often either... PSAhri is my main and I say this because I can

Every game I hold back my temper and try to tell my team "we can do this" but sometimes it's just way too tilting and then if i can not hold it in anymore i can't release my anger anywhere but the game :(
