Talon is a prime example, he was put to rest in patch 4.17 where riot removed his silence.. And literally (i mean LITERALLY) not even mentioned in another patch since then. That was in August of 2014. isnt that crazy?

I understand everyone has their time, but with the item, mastery, and champion changes, Talon especially has fallen short of even being remotely viable.

Regardless good luck with pre season chaos patches, just really hope yasuo and illiao gets a few paragraphs of patch notes.

They were so similar, that i thought you linked one of my old posts.

and no red text. im glad someone got an answer, but i did everything in my power, email, board posts, replying to other red texts. and nothing. lol

Yasuo isn't exactly crazy OP atm. People just don't know how to not die to him in lane for some reason; they also assume that they must bring a full blown AP mid to fight yasuo. Try Cho. Keeps his passive down, all abilities go through wind-wall, tanky, plus a silence and very high ratios. Excels with 2 damage items and, after, armor.

Illaoi isn't super OP either. She does a lot of damage and is tanky, yeah, but also has no CC and can be burned down really easily by support/ADC combo. Her skills outside of the leap are very easy to dodge, and your AD might have to focus tentacles rather than focusing the champ at first if a lot of people get hit by the ult. Then again, she shouldn't get the opportunity to hit a lot of people with it if your team isn't being dumb.

Also, AD assassins in general are never very healthy. Its either someone dies with no opportunity to react, or the assassin is considered useless for the most part. They might get a tool or two eventually to help them at least be able to contribute in a wider variety of situations, but Riot will never endorse an assassin meta like what you want.

At the moment, though, Talon functions reasonably with a bruiser-like build, which is to say not very well, but about as well as full damage. Maybe you can convince them to give Talon some total AD scaling, but it'd come at the cost of some snowball potential through items.

Thats cuz he gets 100% crit rate in 2 items, then those crits heal him. and his shield blocks basically a full ability worth of damage. His dash has barely any CD and he's just broken. the items and masteries are BUILT for him.

Illaoi is just like every new champ. Usually extremely broken, and 3-4 patches later they get a hard nerf and everything goes well.

Not looking for an assassin meta. Just looking for the assassin viability. Kha zix, rengar, Katarina Akali, all have a decent kill potential while talons just far far behind.

Yasuo isn't that hard to fight. His crits don't do very much damage relative to others, especially with no damage behind them at that point, and you're talking pretty far into the game when you should definitely be able to put up some retaliation in good supply. You're probably just not building defenses and sticking your neck out at bad times. Its not hard to imagine you get punished severely for that.

Actually, Kat and Akali have terrible kill potential if their opponent doesn't want to grow up to be a punching bag. They have such terrible early games that its hard not to punish them, and they can't 100-0 anyone unless they go against said punching bag or the target is extremely far behind themselves. They're how assassins should function. 70-0, not 100-0.

Talon fits that pretty well right now, actually. What he needs, though, is some form of reset mechanic like almost every other assassin in the game. He needs a total rework, not buffs. His current fantasy is one that ruins the game for everyone else in it.
