the difference between ap mid and adc

The difference is that you can be a good adc and get fed and then have a really unfun game where you dont do anything the entire game because your teammates cant do shit and then you loose.

But, if you are a good ap mid and your teammates suck, you will have a great time doing lots of fun things and then loose anyway because your team focus leona. But then, you might win anyways because you get a good stun off and your team isnt complete vegetables.
