No, Lulu cannot stop Sion's ultimate. Stop lying to the boards.

The Ecdysiast··74 votes·4,344 views

EDIT: This has been fixed. It was never an intentional strength of Lulu's, and so was never something that should have been complained about. If you didn't notice that this never happened before, and there wasn't a patch where they intentionally forced it to do this, that's on you.

This is the video used as "proof" that she does.

Some problems though:

  1. The point at which the polymorph spell actually reaches Sion is the very end when he'd already queued up the slam-- past the point where he's immune to CC. You can see this by the fact TF's gold card also stuns Sion within that same second.

  2. Neither form of CC actually prevented the slam at the end of his ultimate. He simply missed. Sion only knockups up enemies he collides with. That Jinx is well out of collision range, and as such she is only hit with the damage and the 35% slow. Nothing prevented the knockup except for Sion's timing and aim. He attempted to end it so that he would still hit Jinx instead of colliding with the dead turret. He did succeed it hitting her with the damage and slow, but was quite far from collision with her.

They just love to hate champs This month it's Lulu

Knoyle14 votes

All the Assassin mains who were using lethality as lube just get butthurt when something actually counterplays them.

Troll for Trump5 votes

All the squishy carry mains got butthurt when they got killed by assassins even after they were nerfed, and continue to whine about "no counterplay"

Hello I am Bird4 votes

This is really true. Downvote all you want, it's still true.

FortisDominus2 votes

Its ironic that people say assassin mains are butthurt, yet assassins/pseudo assassins are the most complained about role on the boards xD.

God forbid Zed or fizz have anything higher than a 47% winrate and the boards go insane about how broken zed or fizz is

Sexy Jack Rabbit1 votes

Well I dunno about them being the most complained about champions, but they are definitely high skill cap champions. Having a win-rate above 47% all the time is little bit odd.

Knoyle3 votes

Actually people tend to hate champs that hover around the Bruiser/Diver classes. Doing a considerable amount of damage while also being painfully tank. Hecarim is a prime example.

FortisDominus1 votes

I guess you forgot all the times where assassins such as Zed, Fizz, Akali, Rengar,Yasuo (etc...) received so much hate that every other post was about them, yet most of the time these champions were not that strong and only got nerfs because of the cries from people on these boards and reddit.

Knoyle1 votes
  1. Yasuo isn't necessarily and assassin
  2. Rengar is the most popular of that list alone because the only type of counterplay anyone felt like they had against him was "Run, bitch!!!" and when he was ahead it was basically true if he was in a bush or had ulti up.
  3. Let's be real here Nobody that doesn't main him actually likes Yasuo. Tolerate, sure maybe. But not like.
FortisDominus1 votes
  1. pretty sure yasuo can be classified as a pseudo assassins, which i stated earlier
  2. you obviously didnt play in season 3 when complaints about akali and fizz were common and dont pretend you have never seen "zed is broken" threads whenever he is relatively strong on these boards.
  3. thats irrelevant

Hmm ... wouldn't an easier solution be to replicate it in a custom game?

Like, if Lulu did polymorph Sion it'd make sense why Twisted Fate was able to stun him.

Hi for context I just played the Lulu support vs Sion Support matchup yesterday. In that game I polymorphed his ult twice. Both times that the missile reached him before his collision it forced his stop and his normal stopping explosion occurred at the point at which polymorph hit him. The damage still occurred from the explosion, however no stunning occurred as he became incapable of continuing his ult.

I don't know what you did. I happen to play Lulu VS Sion in ARAM, and had the opposite result. They gave me the legit "immune to disables" message.

It could be a map specific bug, since multiple people have tested this in SR and confirmed it.

I doubt it.

The weird thing is, some people are looking at the duration, issue where the CC duration is longer than the invulnerability. But the with Sion's Ult, that's more or less indefinite, and it's effect has no specific end point.

If there is this discrepancy, it would most likely some kind of race condition, where it some times happens and sometimes it doesn't.

TheHappyReaperz7 votes

Except, Sion stopped immediately after hit with the poly-morph. He didn't stop, que up slam, then get poly-morphed. He was stopped by the poly-morph, then slammed, then was stunned by TF.

DrCyanide13 votes

The Sion player stopped immediately after he realized he wasn't going actually run into anyone, it just happened to line up with getting polymorphed. Note the dust trail before Sion stops, you won't get that if you're colliding with anything, only if you cancel the ult yourself.

You could make videos like this claiming that any ability cancels Sion's ult.

TheHappyReaperz3 votes

https://youtu.be/QvqW--AynXk?t=1m57s

You get the dust trail regardless of you activating it.

DrCyanide1 votes

Not in the same manner. The skin spotlight trail appears far more suddenly, since it had to be generated when Sion collided as oppose to over the stop animation.

I've tested the thing, lulu's w does force sion out of his ult.

I can understand why the original proof isn't too clear, but this is very easy to replicate, not sure why OP didn't bother with that.

Not sure why this thread is getting upvoted either.

I don't have Sion or Lulu to check myself right now, so I've just got to go off of the video provided.

Well if you look closely(slow it to 0.25 and pause periodically), you can see sion's ult availability(the yellow circle next to his icon), and you can see that the thing goes on cooldown the exact frame lulu's w hit him and he turns in a squirrel , so either he chose to end his ult at that exact moment(unlikely, but possible), or lulu's w actually forced him out of his ult(Which I've tested, and it does do that), so pretty good evidence that he's right.

Also it apparently ignores morg's shield and fiora's riposte, but not olaf's ult, so it's pretty buggy right now.

The Ecdysiast1 votes

It requires another person and it was very late at night. That's why I didn't test it myself. Like those who blindly upvoted his thread despite how the evidence pans out, I simply used the single video Sion Bot provided.

You know, there's an ancient and wise saying which goes something like this: "check yourself before you wreck yourself".

If you didn't feel like actually checking the thing in question, why make a thread about it?

Like those who blindly upvoted his thread despite how the evidence pans out, I simply used the single video Sion Bot provided.

As I've explained above this reply: the original video actually provides pretty solid evidence, as much as can be given really, the only way to have more evidence is to test it yourself.

manbearswine7 votes

I don't know, it's not really obvious.

There was another video where it goes through morgs shield(and it actually does do that in said video very clearly), so maybe it is in fact bugged.

EDIT: I've tested it, it went through morg's shield 1/1 time I've bothered checking, and that's a bigger bug anyway, if not related.

EDIT2: I've tested it, it basically forces sion out of his ult(so you're wrong), also goes through fiora e.

What's the definition of Morgana's Black Shield? I don't have the specs on it in front of me right now, but doesn't it say "block [X number of] magic damage"? Details like this gets lost on me, but doesn't (example) Taric's stun deal damage? And as such, the whole damage/stun effect gets neutralized by the Black Shield, right?

However, Lulu's W...doesn't deal any damage. Nothing. And it's not a stun, snare, root, fear or suppress. It's a disable.

Now I'm not arguing what type of lockdown does what and is coded in what way to interact with anything else, but sticking to the Black Shield and Lulu's Polymorph, it does make technical sense that Morgana IS affected by the Polymorph.

The "definition of morgana's black shield" is that until the shield drops you are immune to any cc(exhaust may be excluded, cause it's a summoner spell and has non-trivial interactions with a whole bunch of stuff), so you're not supposed to be affected by lulu's w.

Also, this is something new, morgana's spellshield used to block lulu's w.

If what you're saying is true, then the original angry rant that Lulu is OP because of this should have just been reported as a bug. No need to complain about a bug as if it's an intended strength.

How could lulu be op over this if it only affects a handful of champions? especially since this handful isn't that popular to begin with.

I don't think this affects anyone outside of fiora/morgana/sion.

No need to complain about a bug as if it's an intended strength.

It's a bug, and it's not an intended strength.

The Ecdysiast1 votes

That was the point. Sion Bot's original thread was just crying about Lulu being too good at support--and having this "strength" on top of it.

He was acting as if it weren't a bug, and people who are whining about a support being good at support upvoted his thread under the same ignorance.

I'm aware of how these boards work, but that doesn't justify lying about an actual bug.

lulu is too good as a support too good as a solo laner fuck I played lulu jungle full movespeed and was still useful because I knew how to press r and w

Knalxz3 votes

Wait OP that isn't exactly fair. If it is a bug then just admit that people we're wrong and that something is fucked up about a Champion having the ability to do such a thing. Look at the comments on this post people were chewing each other out about this.

You perpetuated hatred on a lack of knowledge and now skirt back in an attempt to justify it when proven wrong. I was very much on the middle with this Lulu thing just waiting to see evidence for either side. Coming to this thread was just seeing you try to cover up a bullshit bug then insult the people who discovered the bug and thought it was bullshit.

The people run aware it was a bug and assumed it was game design had every right to be upset about this issue, insulting them does nothing besides make you look like a sore loser for simply being wrong.

Take the L op, no need to be an ass.

The Ecdysiast1 votes

I took the evidence provided in a claim that Lulu "is bullshit" and evaluated it. The video provided happens to line up in such a way that does not support Sion Bot's claim.

The people unaware it was a bug have no right to complain, since they should have been well aware that this didn't happen until recently.

Knalxz1 votes

They have every right to complain because they weren't aware it was a bug. In that context of it not being known people only think that their most powerful ability is suddenly stopped by something it should ignore.

The logic you're using is flawed. What they basically did was complain about a bug, but they we're unaware of it. You're saying they're wrong for complaining about something they thought was just down right bullshit. Guess what, it was bullshit and that's why it's a bug looking to be fixed.

Rather then just admit like those people that you we're wrong you'd rather just insult everyone. Again just take the L and move on, no need to dump ass in front of the door on your way out.

The Ecdysiast1 votes

Now it's been fixed, and Sion bot is as wrong as he ever was. Lulu's W can not intentionally stop Sion's ultimate.

People do not have the right to complain about a bug under the impression that it is working as intended. There was no point before now that she could do that. Anyone with half a brain would've noticed that it was a bug.

So you can stop harassing me. They fixed it, so you're more wrong than you've been the entire time.

Knalxz1 votes

A clear bug? the only time something is clearly a bug is if there's an issue with animations or models. Stats or abilities acting out of the norm aren't clearly bugs especially when there are over 500 abilities to be counted for making ti almost impossible to know exactly what each of them does.

Also, I'm not sure if this counts as harassing you but I guess you're one of those people who get easily triggered aren't you?

You know, I'll let your fragile ego take a rest from the INTENSE DEBATE and leave it at that. You clearly have a personal problem to deal with and I won't stoke the fire.

The Ecdysiast1 votes

It's a clear bug if it wasn't doing this before, and is only recently doing so, without a mention in the patch notes of an intentional change to allow it to do so.

Just because some players (you) are too ignorant to notice such a change never happened, doesn't mean you have the go-ahead to rant based on your ignorance.

The thread's been upvoted, the bug has been fixed. I won the debate. Take the loss and stop being a prick.

Knalxz1 votes

I don't care anymore, like I said I'll leave you to your wallowing. Geez, let it go bro.

EParadoxx3 votes

Okay, this post kinda triggered me.

It takes about 10 minutes to test this but none of you seem to be fucked to do that. I did it before this thread was posted and here's the result:

http://webmshare.com/vODND

It does stop the ult, the polymorph is applied regardless of the point of the ult and forces it to stop. I tried this several times, before charging, after charging, mid charging, same result every time.

And this is not a single instance either, the polymorph is bypassing many other types of cc immunity including Morganas spellshield:

http://webmshare.com/4eNDo

I don't know if people that upvoted you are lulu mains that prefer to keep playing a broken, LITERALLY BROKEN champion(it doesn't cancel teleport anymore either you might wanna get that checked to see the spell is actually severely glitched) or are just so goddamn lazy, they rather accuse the boards of "lying" than do 10 minutes worth of research to stir up shit.

Cookimonster3162 votes

I have tested this in customs and it does make Sion slam no matter where at the ultimate he is. The video looks like they are lying, but if you test it for yourself you can see that it does somewhat cancel it. I thought nearly the same thing before I tested it.

Kinda funny most of the people liking this post haven't even tested the interaction.

The Ecdysiast1 votes

Wait, are you saying it does force him to end?

'Cause the video can be explained how I explained it-- but you may also be correct. Please post a replay of what you're experiencing in your tests.
