"jUsT cC hIm" is not an excuse in order to counter a champion.

Based on this shit CC any champion in order to counter it. You can counter everything with CC No-You shouldnt be able to counter YI-JAX-TRYNDA-RENE With CC ONLY,There have to be more ways to counter those braindead AA only champions...oh wait, there are not..You want to counter Xerath? You can dodge everything,You want to counter Vel? Guess what, you can dodge everything,You want to counter AuSol? well guess what, walk up to him and try not getting him by his stars or wait for him to use some of his abilities etc etc,You want to counter fucking YI? Well YoU cAn Cc hIm and thats it actually......

So please for the love of good just stop using this as an excuse..

Ps,if you are playing MF and someone is playing Jhin or any champions that are broken as fuck, dont complain about their brokeness, please.

By that logic, everything that autoattacks lacks counterplay.

Which isn't true. Tryndamere has counterplay. Yi has counterplay. Jax has counterplay. Part of that is waiting out their CDs and, yes, CC and kiting.

Also, it suggests we can't complain about Jhin if we play anyone else who is broken, even though Jhin is a serious problem.

It's silly.

One more thing; hold your CC for when they engage. If they jump at you they're vulnerable until their dash is fully completed and you can usually tell where they're gonna end. If you throw it too early, they see your CC is down, CC engage on you, and kill you.

If you CC them and they can walk it off and run up to you anyway you were probably in the wrong place to begin with.

so true, once yi's alpha is down he can be pretty hard fucked by one well placed cc, but if he gets a kill before the cc then comes the resets, another trick to countering yi is to try and not give him a chance to engage if his guinsoos is fully stacked

Okay to be fair

I understand why low elos hate Yi and I can understand there is a lot of frustration around playing against his 2 item powerspike

but it's not like he's lacking in counterplay. He's just too good at what he does, but that thing only consistently works in Bronze-Plat

Try counterplay: wounds that stop his healing, tanks like Malphite who can cut his AS and ranged poke like Teemo and Kennen who can punish him for even getting in as well as denying him fury.

End game Try, yeah you are basically fucked in a one vs one, but in turn his team fight is shit and AoE cc that gets applied to him tends to make him useless.

Oh, and in lane, denying him rage, he has no rage, his damage plummets

Jax counterplay: long range poke as he is another purely melee champion, also ap in general as he can’t really defend himself from it like he can with AD as far as his stun goes.

Again, him being pure melee tends to punish him in anything besides a 1 vs 1 scene

Yi counterplay: Stop dragging out games, end them quickly as Yi has to scale, he is probably the best scaling ADC champion in the game but in turn his early game is weak, so much so that Yi as a laner isn’t really possible do to how weak his early game is.

Just like with the other two, stop fighting them 1 vs 1, these champions from the ground are built for dueling...so stop dueling them.

Until there is a champion that is perpetually immune to crowd control (which probably won't happen), crowd control counters everyone.

Any champion Morgana black shields technically

Do I need to define the word, "perpetually"?

i love how people complain about yi, and as a yi main, i can see so many holes in my armor that cause me to get completely owned.

maybe if you took the time to PLAY THE CHAMP, LEARN THE CHAMP, understand the weak points, and strong points, and further assess how to counter or create openings.

u might just find a new main, (not talking about yi specifically, im only a yi main because i started jungling season 2 with mr. yi)

ppl tell me, "oh yi is so easy to play"

but they dont play him, and when they do their win rate sucks.

so where is the validity?

i had a topic like this the other day in all chat as tryndamere, i was arguing the point that aatrox is easier to play as well as stronger, i made the point that his cooldowns are too low in lane to punish with trading and you cant outpoke him due to the long range of his spells combined with e, and his damage is kinda stupid too, the enemies responded with the generic auto attack champion (even tho none of them took the time to stop me from splitpushing) they come in on me while im taking inhib and i have conquerer guinsoos and about 2 seconds of my ult left and i kill nid, she thinks that kinda shit requires no skill, just because a champion is mechanically light doesnt mean they are easy, just like with aatrox, i played him in one for all, fed my ass off, and still popped off due to just mashing my spells in their generic direction

TLDR its annoying when people confuse auto attack champs for easy af champs, and just cuz a champion has more mechanics, doesnt mean they are harder

I've managed to counter out of control Yi-s reasonably well by building, as my last item, a Thornmail he did not expect on the adc. Granted I was also relatively well fed at that point, but you know, adapt to whatever your situation is. If you are super behind, then wait behind your front line and get in only once he popped his Q. Use your summoners, stay grouped, etc. Any fed enemy champ will be a problem, just mitigate what they can do with a bit of creativity.

i have a friend, who just gets thornmail on swain support all the time lol, its so funny when the adc's try to touch him, i dont think they ever notice

Swain is not a support.

A player's attitude can't change a champion's kit, so yeah, not with that or any other attitude.

he starts spelltheifs, has good poke with lvl 1 e being able to electrocute, he has good zoning with his w and his q provides a lotta damage in duels, when he casts his ult he becomes tankier and makes the enemy have to pay to engage on his adc, he builds roa and thornmail so hes hard to kill and can provide good combat utility, with your attitude you were blind to see swains potential, his kit doesnt change with attitude, but actually being able to see how good swain support is does

What do you do on a Swain starting mid game when you are, let's say, about 1k gold behind everybody else and a significant portion of the gold that you did get has been invested in your gold/warding item? Which abilities of Swain are universally useful regardless of itemization?

FatedSaviour1 votes

peel heavily for your team and try to tank for the carry, annoy the enemies with cc and sometimes bait the enemies with the hp boost from your ult, i can personally vouch for swain support working for me all the time when he plays it, to when ive played it, just give it a try, before you send your next complaint :)

Seems like you see it played as a subpar Leona... Yeah, sounds solid, lol. Swain is heavily dependent on AP and the cc you mentioned as a feature is just a weak ass slow and a hard to land, medium length root. What the hell are you even talking about?

i can personally vouch for swain support working for me all the time when he plays it, to when ive played it, just give it a try, before you send your next complaint :)

Why are you trying to sell this instead of arguing for it's validity? I ain't buying.

u seem pretty dead set on not wanting swain in the botlane again XD, whatever, i have no more effort to waste about telling you of one of my favourite supports to have when im the adc, see ya later

To be fair you didn't put much effort into establishing Swain as a valid support pick to begin with, so not much wasted.

Im more pissed at that some champs take just ONE CC and they are countered.

Its AUTO attack champs like YI and Tryn that take CHAIN HARD CC to kill.

THEY are the problem. If it was just one CC then they would be fine like most but they are not.

FatedSaviour1 votes

its not about lots of cc for yi and tryn, ill explain for yi, save your cc until hes out of alpha and be sure to do it before he bursts someone, then your team can just burst him and one shot him so hard, and with tryndamere, just get him low, bait out the ult, then just kite around him, and save your cc until the ult is nearly over

Pika Fox1 votes

CC an amumu, see if he cares. CC is a valid counter because not all champs are affected by CC equally.

By all means, CC the burst mage who just pressed qwer. Do it. After all, it counters everyone right?
