I love new Soraka! Great example of Riot rethinking its stance based on community ideas.

Friendship is truly the greatest magic of all.

I just finished playing new Soraka for the first time. (Ionia needed a sub for a Factions match, and I'd been meaning to try her.) She's really fun. I like the delayed AoE theme in her abilities, and the mini-game about regaining lost health with Q.

Well done. I realize this is somewhat belated feedback, but wanted to say something.

I particularly appreciate how Morello, despite being quite wary of healers, responded to community feedback and came up with a way to have a "healthy" healing Champion. Great example of community engagement, and Riot taking community feedback seriously, to the point of rethinking some of their prior assumptions and plans.

And hey, since it was an Ionia match, we happened to have a Yi on our team, making this song also thematic:

As a pre-rework Soraka main, I was (and am) pretty upset about losing the old Soraka. That said, the new Soraka is fun to play. I play her quite a bit, even if I always do so with a pang of regret. I still don't understand why it was necessary, but it was an excellent rework, and those involved should be pleased with themselves.

I really love the way her Q and W interact in lane. I don't know if I'd call it a "mini-game" but it's got a really nice flow to it.

The root on the E still feels kind of out place to me, though. :\

What got me a few times was the fact that, as far as I can tell, her E does literally nothing to minions. I kept instinctively throwing it at waves when trying to push.

Her E is champion only, says so on the tooltip. ;]

But yeah, I tried to clear with it at first, too. Luckily, her Q is good at pushing on it's own for when you need to do that sort of thing.

Now now now, your praise should be going to Vesh. He was the one who did the rework. But if want to give a shoutout to Morello, I Guess you can.

But I still don't trust someone who's had an immediate change of heart after being so adamant about healers not having a place in League. It's gonna take me awhile to believe Morello is being sincere.

That's true, but I believe Morello authorized it. That was probably not his first instinct. But he stuck around, talked with members of the community, debated them seriously, and at the end of the day the community gained an appreciation for why healers can be problematic, and Morello understood that people really did want healers nonetheless. He then used his design expertise to figure out how to make a healer while avoiding the usual pitfalls, deciding to try a different spin on the idea—the "infuse" healer. Then, the Rioter who had previously been thinking "no, the concept of a healer is awful in a MOBA" gave the green light.

It's an excellent example of what Riot does right.

the new soraka rework made her a double edged sword with her heal basically killing her at the same time its kinda fixed with her q but its not dependable overall imo soraka got dumpstered and is a bad choice to play because when i played her i had to keep going back late game because i was almost dead from healing so much even with 150+ regen per 5 sec not enough

her main problem is mid-game, she either instantly dies when looked at and can't as often heal herself up with Q after healing allies.

Interesting rework though.

Her Q and E are so obnoxious when facing her though, which is good because Supports are supposed to be obnoxious to the enemy.
