Why I believe the removal of the Deathfire Grasp is a good move by Riot

Imo this is a good thing. I've always said this since the s3 worlds. While the item is balanced itself in terms of base stats, it's also toxic when it comes to the passive. This item was the main reason we had so many assassins on S3. This item is simply too good on assassin when well used. The usage of it it's hard on it's full potential, but it allows no counterplay.

Also, the existance of the item forced to nerf the mages that used it, mostly Ahri, Annie, Kayle and Le Blanc. Yes it was a fun item, but you must admit it had no counterplay.

I really hope the removal of the item results in well deserved buffs to many bursty mages, and as well allows to adapt mid-lane diversity. Yes I'm sad with the removal of the item, but it was needed for the health of the game. I'm looking forward to see buffs to champions like Le Blanc, Veigar, Brand, Diana and... Evelynn. Ahri is more than obvious she will be buffed as well, with her consequent skilcap being reduced a little. Also, hoping that non-fullcombo champs like Lux, Cassio, Swain, Heimi and Karthus rise with this change.

Looking forward for the season 5 :)

On the other hand, mages or just genuinely AP toons need more active items, they are blatantly missing atm.

And nerf Zhonya please Riot.

I see so pretty much taking away DFG will allow riot to buff these champions in a differnt way like possibly giving leblanc her silence back which I still think is op because even without it leblanc shits on people with her trades because it's litterally almost free damage and it's not a small amount either.
