You know, Karthus probably wouldn't be bad in a duo lane

And before someone says it, I am not talking about changing him to duo, but rather, him being able to duo lane in his current state.

Karthus. Squishy and high damage by nature. Notably at his weakest during laning. But what if he had someone to help him get through laning? Imagine if Karthus had a Braum or Thresh to protect him early on. And unlike Mordekaiser, he can actually trade/farm/poke with his Q. And once he his 6 he gets a huge map presence from bot lane, and even if he does die early he has his passive to either secure a kill with or grab some extra farm.

Not saying it'd be good, but it'd be interesting to see it tried out.

not a bad train of thought, i think a lot of DPS-oriented mages would actually succeed decently bot lane. I want to get around to trying Karthus Cassiopeia in place of an ADC

I think Azir is actually a pretty good replacement too. He might be the best, since he can take towers pretty well

tbh i think anyone could go bot, it's just that you want a marksman somewhere to push towers, and bot lane is where it's safest

The reason why most ap carries cant duo lane is because they will be a level or 2 behind most other champs for early/mid game. This is less of a hindrance for adcs because they rely less on base damages than AP carries.

That being said, give it a try, it might work.

Karthus certanly seems like a better alternative than Mord, due to his (Currently) higher AoE, safety and far less reliance on snowballing to be relevant. At least in theory.

Mid Lane.

Morde can botlane rightnow because he can get the same amount of xp as a sololane.

Some adc's can lane elsewhere, and some team comps don't require an adc just like some team comps don't require a tank/bruiser/assassin.

Gotta think outside the box, the meta doesn't mean there's only one way to play.

for example?

Depends on what you're going for, and what the enemy team comp is.

If the enemy team lacks sufficient waveclear, certain waveclear mages can shove lanes and use their minions to take towers. Other mages, such as Azir or Kayle I believe, can take towers relatively fast compared to some. AD champions with good waveclear (though, typically being melee, might have more risk). And don't forget split-pushers who can take towers while their team distracts the enemy (particularly when contesting dragon, especially if they have teleport once the deed is done).

There are options. And if all else fails, some adc's can go mid or top if someone wants to take a mage botlane. Vayne (or as top laners say, "VayneInMyAss") or Quinn are such examples.

mid lane. A lot of the pokey adcs can go mid and do pretty well.

The reasons people pick ADCs over casters bot lane is because physical damage scales better with items and magic damage gets a lot of its power through levels.

The main problem I see with this is the huge loss of ability to siege anything down. That's not to say it couldn't work, but it could be somewhat of a thorn in your side.
