Runeglaive is a sucess

Fixed.

Been pretty successful with it in the jungle. It allows me to an absurd amount of damage on stance changes. Now Turtle and Bear stance actually have bite to them rather than being utility stances.
I will be honest, though. Magus provided me with a better bruiser build since more AP meant a bigger shield on Turtle stance. But the ludicrous damage that comes off Runeglaive allowed me to build considerably more glasscannon and get away with it. People don't expect you to do THAT MUCH damage that early. And people can't kill you if they're already dead.
you ain't trick2g stop doing ap udyr
you arent challenjour stop playing this game
Anyone also dislike gp dealing magic damage crits.
Diana seems to like it in the jung, granted she can kinda delete people without it
The the mana sustain that she really enjoys. It synergies incredibly well with her kit. The AoE is just icing on the cake. Since she doesn't follow the normal model of quick in-and-out of most assassins; instead plowing through everything else in her way.
Ya she doesn't really have an out option, I guess that keeps her a little balanced out in assassinations, once she's in you gotta pray your team can follow up before zhonya's times out.
Actually. . . It's exactly the reason Riot was talking about reworking her into a bruiser a while back. The job of an assassin is to reach a high profile target, kill them, and get out alive. She does part one by bulldozing everyone in her way, then repeats for part 3. You end up with a high burst, high DPS, tanky assassin. And in Diana's case, you also end up with a healthy chunk of AoE damage (her ult is her only single target ability).
Diana wasn't actually created as an assassin. She was meant to be an AP bruiser. It is just that due to her insane AP ratios and bases, people realized that Diana was better as an AP assassin.
The reason they want to rework her is them not being mentally capable of creating new items that could actually fit her intended role... or any AP bruiser for that matter.
Right now AP bruiser is 5 tank items + 1 AP item.
It's been said that Diana is the absolute only champ to benifit from this over Magus.
It's been said that Diana is the absolute only champ to benifit from this over Magus.
I like AP Kayle jungle more with runeglaive over Magus. Lets me skip Lich Bane and have both Deathcap and Zhonyas in my final build.
??
Evelyn is the best Lich Bane user in the game, and Runeglaive sacrifices tons of power compared to LB. She didn't need the mana sustain she needed the damage and AP of LB.
But she can get magic penetration now because her E becomes magic damage with Runeglaive.
Also, Evelyn is definitely not the best Lich Bane user in the game, with champions like
and
both arguably being better Lich Bane users than her enough to rush the item where Eve cannot (and could not due to item costs).
Eve can proc it every moment it's off cooldown because hatespike's timer is perfectly alligned with it. I'm not sure there are any other champions who can do that reliably.
jungle likes it.
benefits greatly from the on-hit proc.
The reason balancing AP junglers is weird is because Riot said that they are ok with some champions not being able to jungle. At that point you decide who is and isn't allowed to jungle. There are some champs that are AP junglers that don't benefit as well, and some that benefit more. But not all AP champions should be able to jungle.
As the case for
, I personally don't think it matters much, since in the past, a lot of fid junglers just didn't get a jungle item in the first place.
Wrong, they did. It nearly doubled gold generated from large monsters. 80 AP and 20% CDR as well as being extremely gold efficient was useful for every AP jungler in the game, and was also more useful for manaless junglers like Rumble and Akali (yes she could jungle after her buffs).
that depends upon perspective, by late game camps generate about 80 gold including what the jungling item gives
early game, you have to spend 850 to gain the 30 gold bonus, though that cost is typically negated because everyone uses their starting gold
fiddlesticks could clear without it if he wanted, but it's not very advised

Don't worry, Ezreal only uses it TWICE as much as any jungler....and he doesn't even jungle...
Just to clarify. This does not mean that Ezreal builds Runeglaive in 40-some percent of games, though it would seem that would be reasonable as AD Ezreal and Ezreal w/o smite are a thing. Due to his popularity though, he is the top user of the item purely because he is in a lot more games than Nidalee, Evelynn, or Diana. If you use the same method to look up the users of Infinity Edge
, you see that the most popular ADC's are at the top (barring Vayne as her first item is usually BoRK and then she will get an AS/Crit chance item second, saving IE for later parts of the game; similar things can be said about Kalista).
Ezreal is in about twice as many games as Diana or Nidalee, so naturally we can assume that he will use the item twice as much as these other champions. This should somewhat take into account that Ezreal has other roles such as ADC, and Nidalee and Diana have other roles such as mid or toplane.
I just wanted to clear things up as Runeglaive IS being used on these junglers, but players are trying to abuse the 'freelo' of Runeglaive Ezreal right now and he is the top user of the item right now due to this.

Many other annoying poke mids than ezreal, hell lux is the same as ezreal with cc and self peel, all she lacks is a escape but if she catchs you in snare from fog of war you will die before even knowing who was there.

actually , lux deals way less damage while being immobile and her QE projectile speed is slower than ez QW
Yeah ap ez mid you just hear 2 space sounding sounds and then see a grey screen.
Lux has appreciable cooldowns and mana costs. Ez has neither.

can't tell if you're joking or just horribly misinformed
can't tell if you're joking or just horribly misinformed
I think I misunderstood. In french, "appréciable" means 'enjoyable, cool' so I thought you were saying lux had low manacosts, which I thought was terribly wrong. You have huge manaproblems. Did it meant the opposite?
It's the same in English, too. I think that by "appreciable" he means "appreciable to play AGAINST" xD like, her cooldowns and manacosts make her manageable in fights. Ez has neither of those problems.
Ez isn't a mage, he's an assassin. He has no CC, relies entirely on Trailblazer's for his waveclear, and his AOE teamfight presence is almost-sort-of-there, but just isn't close to what
, etc... can pull off in terms of AOE. RG gives him a little bit of extra AOE damage, but it's true value to Ez is it's damage conversion on his Q, from physical to magical. Now, the magic pen he builds applies to his Q damage as well.
He serves the same niche as Leblanc does. Delete one squishy, then either provide some moderate single target sustained damage, or back off and wait for your full rotation to come up again. He's a pubstomper, but if people decide to start grouping and do some teamfighting, the traditional mage is going to shine brighter than Ez ever will.
Source: been playing AP Ez off and on since S1. Haven't gotten my hands on Runeglaive Ez yet, but I've been following what happened with the pros and why it worked. I also have mained Vel'Koz recently, and can say that it's stupidly hard to make up for the sheer amounts of AOE damage when teamfights start breaking out. Mage's need to know where their skills shine, and abuse those moments.
The definition of "Mage" (as a primary attribute) means a champion that does a lot of magic damage, scales off AP, and uses his or her spells for at least half of his or her damage. Mage as a secondary attribute means a champion that does other things, but relies on spells and magic damage to mold whatever the primary attribute is into what the champion ended up.
Ezreal is a Marksman/Mage, an auto attacking ranged champion that relies on his spells to power up his auto attacks. Granted, any fed mage or marksman can shred tanks and delete squishies. But it doesn't mean they're an assassin to begin with.
The problem with choosing their designation based on what type of damage they deal is that you have a bunch of champs who technically fit the mold, but have massively different playstyles. By designating them based on their playstyle, regardless of damage type, you can get a better picture of what a given champion does and how they benifit a team.
A standard mage functions best by providing AOE damage and wave control. They may not delete a squishy in less than a second, but they can bring any and all non-tanks in the enemy team simultaneously down to 25% or less with a full combo. This is what I'm talking about when I say that champs should be classified by playstyle.
If you lump Ez and Leblanc in with Vel'Koz and Brand, the term mage doesn't give you an idea on how they are best played, only how they might be building. Hell, according to your definition, "does a lot of magic damage [very vague btw], scales off AP, and uses his or her spells for at least half of his or her damage," Singed, Sej, and Amumu are mages, even though they are far different from Ez or Vel.
Yep. I classify champions based on <range> (ranged or melee), <damage type> (AP, AD, Both, Hybrid, Tank), <general playstyle> (Tank, Bruiser, Mage, Marksman, Assassin, Support, Fighter), and <secondary attribute> (basically the same as playstyle).
Ezreal to me is a Ranged Both Mage Marksman. He's not an Assassin because he lacks: --Burst/Execute based damage --Stealth/stupid levels of mobility --Mow 'em all down damage --Catching people out of position
Twitch has stealth. Vayne has stealth. Riven and Fiora are walking WMD's. Pantheon and Nocturne have global jumps. Nidalee and Zed can execute and are not durable. Nuclear Mushrooms.
Ezreal is a Mage that hops around rather than a full blown assassin. Banone?
[Late post due to not having internet for a couple days.]
-Well, for one, to say that AP Ez lacks burst damage is just plain wrong. Mid game, just a quick E-W-Q combo can easily 75% any squishy. Add in the ult, or make it late game, and that'll be 100-0 with overkill. Sure, he doesn't have %MissingHealth (commonly called an Execute), but neither does Akali, Katarina, Talon, or many others, while, at the same time, Volibear does. %MissingHealth is a poor indicator of being an Assassin.
-As for Mobility, I'd say that having a blink on a 7 second cooldown (given 40%cdr), which can be lowered by landing Q's, qualifies as stupid levels of mobility. The blink allows him to catch people out really easily.
-What kind of assassin has "Mow 'em all down damage?" I mean, assassins are pretty much universally classified as single target, 100-0 damage, then almost completely impotent until the cooldowns are back up. Some of the AD assassins and even Fizz can autoattack relatively well, but they're still nothing even remotely close to "mow 'em all down damage." That designation clearly belongs to mages and ADC's, who either have massive AOE to clearcut a swatch through the enemy team, or continuous, unrelenting damage.
-As said before, the blink and shear range of his skills gives him a ton of catching power. At 450 cast range, 750 range on the ensuing bolt, and 1000+ range on all his other abilities, stepping out of the backline as a squishy can easily get you killed. Sure, Ez might get caught out himself, since his mobility is down, but if he picks up Zhonya's or the team's got his back, he'll be fine. Even if he doesn't, he'd still go 1for1, which is pretty much all that Zed or Talon or Fizz can really hope to do if they don't do things perfectly.
I also couldn't help but notice you ignored LeBlanc in all of your examples, seeing as she is the one I've been saying AP Ez plays most like. What category do you fit her into?
Also, I think that it would be best to think of characters less about what they can do as a whole, and more about a specific build. For instance, when you think of Evelynn, do you think "tank", even though that's commonly considered to be the most viable build on her? I, for one, just think of her in terms of what build we're talking about, saying "tank Eve" not just Eve. Like how I say AP Ez, not just Ez. AP Ez is an assassin (AP, AD, doesn't matter. Playstyle is the same. Delete one person, back off, wait for cooldowns). AD Ez is a marksman/AD caster; he's got the autoattack steroid to let him deal greater than average dps on his autos, while also relying heavily on his abilities to deal damage for him.

Lich Bane will do the same. All Runeglaive does to Ezreal is make his power spike occur earlier. Which, itself, is a problem. A potential solution is to have the game auto-buy Hunter's Machete at the Fountain and tie the Smite effect strength to jungle camps cleared. Junglers will be completely unaffected. Laners can keep their FOTM items, but if they'll be forcibly gimped in the early game and be unable to truly benefit from Smite until later in the game.
Runeglaive procing Luden's Echo and Rylai's Crystal Scepter looks to be a bug. And bugs get fixed sooner or later (unless it makes Lee Sin stronger).
It's the "Do I buy a Longsword now, or wait for a BF Sword?" choice for laners with Smite. Who knows, waiting for BF Sword might actually gimp you more than getting Longsword based items.
i can handle it but make it so his q doesn't prock the pile of shit
AP ez cant clear jungle camps until he gets runeglaive. AP ez has a hard time farming in lane, but at least he doesnt have to tank minions.
I still find it funny how they were trying to make it look like a good item on fiddle and karthus jungle when literally only nidalee and evelynn (maybe a non-tank elise i guess?) actually would use that item, even tho they didnt really need it to begin with.
And what do you know, mid laners with smite being so dominant they can 1v9 in competitive LOL. If only we had a place to test new patch content before their release to make sure they are actually balanced :^), its a shame we only have a skin preview/hype server!
It was successful in its goals of diversifying the AP jungle champion pool.
It's the only mana regeneration item in the game that gives many non-meta AP champions the mana sustain they need to be viable in the jungle, but no one is looking for these kinds of kinds of junglers because the stats are bad and the Sheen proc is not as good in PVP combat.
Runeglaive is amazing for diversifying the AP jungle champion pool by allowing those that couldn't jungle before to jungle now, but it's horrible for allowing them to transition into the mid-late game, and it didn't fix a problem with AP junglers as a whole (even those that were currently good) that it couldn't fix in that the AP items weren't fit for a jungler's gold income, which is a fix that is coming in 5.13.
im mid, this is op af
