you and your possible obsession for gold

so many players I feel join this game both with the wrong expectations and the wrong reasons.

first time league players I notice tend to be your normal casual gamers. the players who go to parties with friends and play street fighter or brawl. they all are pretty bad but since the are all bad they don't know it. to them that's nornal.

one day someone from this group discovers league and everyone talks how competitive it is so this guy goes. "hmmm"

he plays his first moba expecting either street fighter or cod. he's wrong and he gets dumpsterd. no one likes losing so he tries again and again. eventually he becomes mediocre but nothing more. at this point he hates the game but he looks at gold.

he can't quit before he gets gold. to him beating the game is getting gold. for every game has a ending right? to him it's getting gold. so every game he obsess more for gold, he needs it just so he can quit. he must prove he is good at league.

John has forgotten the most important part about gaming.

to have fun, all that matters is gold.
