I hope Riot learns something from this season

I hope they stop intentionally nerfing champions to the point of being utter garbage until they can come up with a fix for later. Especially when it comes to new/reworked champs. I'm lookin at you Yuumi, Tahm Kench, Galio, Ivern, Sejuani, Kalista, and others who I probably missed.

I hope riot has a goal for 2020 of NO BALANCING FOR THE SAKE OF PRO PLAY. I'm tired of pro play dominating the balance of the game. If a champion is too strong in the hands of pros, then ban said champion from LCS or balance them solely for LCS. Some of the champions I mentioned I haven't seen in MONTHS. No one would ever pick up these champions outside of pro play.

they learned which skins are most profitable. need more legendary Kaisa skins. everything else is irrelevant

Karunamon9/24/2019, 7:28:02 PM32 votes

Oh they learned, alright. They learned that they don't have to invest substantial effort on this game anymore, in favor of lame gacha cash grabs.

Worse, people pay for this shit.

I really don't get why they balance around the matches where all 5 people are coordinated and ban champs they decide ahead of time to ban, if X is such a fucking problem in LCS then ban it. That's Riot's answer to us. Don't like Zed having his ult every 30 seconds with full CDR? Ban him 4Head. Don't like Yasuo's windwall blocking your entire kit? Just ban him 4Head.

Hey LCS, don't like Ryze? JUST BAN HIM 4HEAD

They won't. If we've learned anything, it's that Riot doesn't learn anything.

iTaLenTZ9/24/2019, 10:42:57 PM10 votes

They haven't learned anything the past 3 seasons what makes you think they will learn something this time?

Jennifer4209/24/2019, 10:14:46 PM9 votes

riot: true damage is easier to understand for new players and overloaded champs are more memorable.

yeah they learned a lot.

Kovorix9/24/2019, 7:45:53 PM6 votes

They probably learned that the current system with pissing on the normal players works cause they still buy all the stupid skins.

Yummi is viable if not stronger than average, tahm kench is fine, no one plays ivern but he’s a beast, sejuani is at least A tier, and Khalista is the only one there who really needs help. Complaining about a champ being too weak? Improve your play don’t rely on riot buffing your main. If you really can’t figure out that every champ is viable in low elo, just pick an “OP” champ.

They have learnt NOTHING from Season 8, they did worse this season, it's pretty evident that they are not able to improve.

Shiroyashayami9/25/2019, 11:55:23 PM3 votes

I will spoil it to you, but they won't. They didn't learn a single thing in 10 years.

NO BALANCING FOR THE SAKE OF PRO PLAY

Yeah, and Rek'Sai is gonna come to life and give me a blowjob.

Let's keep our wishes realistic here, m8.

Karn Bishop9/25/2019, 1:42:58 PM3 votes

Interesting thing to note is they actually broke a balance promise to us, no champion will ever be eve'd again. They are now butchering champions that they cannot balance because they decided the 1% are more important then the 99%.

KiwiFlavor Ziggs9/26/2019, 10:11:05 AM3 votes

The entire patch 9.19 was designed SOLELY for pro play, its very obvious. So I don't think so OP :(.

Linna Excel9/25/2019, 7:06:57 AM2 votes

Irelia and Akali belong on that list big time.

Anyways I'm hoping that riot learns something, but I think it's pretty clear that unless riot loses enough players and stops selling enough skins because of game balance issues that the designers will have to eat some humble pie, I doubt it'll happen. Frankly, if riot doesn't think they've made any substantial mistakes how can they learn?

The biggest mistake riot made is they didn't stick to their guns and keep the game balanced around high platinum. They got enough feedback about DOTA2 pro oriented balance was better without realizing that riot didn't have the time or the money to completely rework every champ in the game to make that transition. Now we are stuck in this weird limbo where some champs are only good in low elo, some are only good in mid (plat to diamond) elos, and some are only good in pro play.

It's like there is 3 different leagues.

aatroxSupertop9/25/2019, 1:26:21 AM2 votes

you forgot to mention aatrox in the list. man is rocking a 43 percent winrate.

Kendren19/25/2019, 3:42:55 AM2 votes

Lol, we're at the end of the season and they're going to buff riven to sell a skin... and you really think they've learned anything?

Ahris9/25/2019, 5:14:50 AM2 votes

Most/many champs broken in competitive is also broken in highest elo though. Like diamond 2 +.

So, either Riot has to gut the skillcap of champ significantly, or player base needs to git gud.

Z3SIeeper9/26/2019, 1:14:28 AM2 votes

Yuumi is an absolutely disgusting champ design and deserves all the nerfs she got.

It's so fucked trying to play against Yuumi Garen or Yuumi Rhaast or whatever other broken combination people come up with.

Doctor Fillgood9/25/2019, 8:16:16 PM1 votes

As this newest patch proves, they could give a shit about any of us, they balance only for pro play and to set up the games so they can push who they want into pro play.

They've become so scummy it's hard to think of them in any light other then that, at least to me. I'm disappointed in them as a company.

"im tired of riot balancing for skill, and not for whatever i think is right"

Hi im 129/25/2019, 7:49:42 PM1 votes

you do realize that if they start balancing the champions around the average player your elo will be bombarded with broken shit as well right? it might not be as broken as it will be in LCS but the top 10% of playerbase is still a lot more skilled than the average.

GilxeN9/25/2019, 6:39:45 AM1 votes

They learned that Prestige skins and on popular champs skins are the most profitable and they will continue doing this.

jocomotion9/28/2019, 1:55:35 PM1 votes

I mean by balancing for the sake of pro play they make hundreds of thousands of dollars off of worlds due to the amount of people buying tickets, watching, buying merchandise, and attending the event.

Unless there’s a major riot (no pun intended) they won’t exactly “learn a lesson” unless that lesson is do it again, but bigger.

Hopefully they learned that the Tank class being useless for 2.5 seasons isn't a healthy state for the meta. Hell, even Hashinshin is now complaining about how weak tanks are. Ironic since a lot of it was his fault in the first place thanks to Conqueror :D
