give mordekaiser a mana bar

It made sense on his old kit because he had very low impact spells, but now that he actually has 2 fairly powerful abilities there's no reason he shouldn't have a resource gate. More importantly though as a casual Mord player I would like to have my item options expanded into better choices and not be stuffed into the same build every game, champion is already boring enough as Sunfire Cape the champion

for example being able to opt into Abyssal Mask in a game where I can expect to be dueling in melee often, rather than Adaptive vs DOT champions, would be very helpful, or Righteous Glory to assist in catching an opponent out.

Ok.

Give Yasuo a mana bar too then, considering how spammy & low cooldown he has.

Mordekaiser kit is a lot stronger than Yasuos

LIterally the winwall+passive bonus crit alone are more valuable then mordekaiser whole kit which does nothing but damage xD

Don't make him pay attention to it, just give him one like half the other champions in the game. :^)

FYI, mana isn't really a "wasted" stat on anyone that bars them from purchasing an item just because they don't have a mana bar. Think of yourself as having mana and not having mana issues, but buying that item with mana just because its passive and other stats are beneficial in the situation even if you won't really be using the mana.

If you don't run out of mana, even if you have mana, you effectively 'waste' the mana stat on items. You buy an item with 350 mana? Every time you back with 350+ mana, you're basically wasting stats on the item.

If its a good buy for the situation, just get it. The fact that it fits the situation likely outvalues the loss of gold spent on mana.

There are plenty of cases like this in the past where a mana item ended up a common buy on manaless champions.

For anyone except almost exclusively poke champs, mana is relatively worthless, whether you have a mana bar or not.

yes but the mana items I want to use besides RG have power specifically tied to mana consumption e.g roa or Abyssal Mask

and I do not like not being able to buy items I want to use

RoA is absurdly stat-efficient even if you ignore its passive and mana.

If you're looking for a stat-stick, its still the way to go.

Abyssal mask is worth it if you want the stats and think +15% damage is worth 810g. Hint: it is. But that's only if you really need the MR and HP in my opinion.

Eternity passive is REALLY nice for mana champions, but what you spend is still well-worth it without the mana.

This isn't really true at all. The thing is, even if you don't use the mana, it's still there in case you do need to. It's not "wasted" because it gives you the option to use your spells more frequently than if you didn't have the mana item and that can make a difference, especially in laning phase.

Buying mana on manaless champs isn't gold efficient and the gold is completely wasted because they will never get any benefit out of the mana portion of it. It's why champs like Kat and Rumble don't buy Luden's even though it has 20% CDR and a good amount of AP. The only thing I can remember in the past few years is people buying Lich Bane on old Akali and even then it wasn't really all that popular from what I saw.

Like in your RoA example, buying a RoA on morde is literally pointless even if it is gold efficient without the mana/passive because all he will get out of it is Health and AP that will take 10 minutes to get to full charge. Do you know what else morde likes that gives Health and AP? Rylai's, Liandry's, and Morellonomicon. None of the stats go to waste on morde, are relatively cheap and give immediate impact.

It would be no different than buying a car that has some things you like but a lot of things that are pointless and won't do anything for you but still buying the car anyway.

Kat and Rumble don't buy Luden's because its an early purchase focused around mana and they have higher priority buys. This is actually one of the worst examples you could give lol.

People buy Luden's because they NEED mana, and it has a LOT of it.

Rumble doesn't need CDR much. He builds up too much heat then. Kat doesn't need CDR much. She has resets and is focused around burst.

RoA is still the best AP stat-stick, no matter how you look at it. 135% efficiency is absurd. I wouldn't recommend it on Morde, but still.

Its PASSIVES you're looking at and in many cases passives outweigh a good amount of stats. Buy for passives and needed stats, much like Yasuos used to buy Trinity Force, even in pro scene. Its happened with Lee Sin too. AP Tryn.

In most cases mana items are not worth it because you're putting yourself at a 400ish gold deficit, but sometimes its worth the stat-line, mostly in regards to armor/mr, if you've already purchased your primary options. Otherwise if a passive just synergies far too well with the situation.

If you have a lead you have more room to make these kinds of purchases, but that is obviously a trade-off you have to weigh, and often there are passives you already want on items that don't have mana.

That doesn't make these purchases wrong, it makes them less preferred, especially when you take into account slot-efficiency and end-game. They aren't going to lose you the game unless you aren't buying them for the right reasons, as uncommon as those reasons may be.

The car example makes no sense. People do that anyway.
