Is there a way to tell which is your last game before demotion?

Asking for me. Had two rough Ranked games the other night and now I'm worried about going back in.

If you are at 0LP, odds are you will be demoted. Not all the time, but most of the time.

Not with certainty.

Getting demoted depends on your mmr relative to the division you're in, and mmr is hidden. If your wins are still giving you more LP than your losses would take away, your mmr is higher than expected so you're likely safe for more games at 0 LP than you might otherwise think, but if you're in a situaiton where you gain 14 and lose 24 or something (eg your mmr is well below your division), then even losing 1 game at 0 LP can be a demotion.

Ultimately your mmr is the only thing that really matters though, so I wouldn't worry too much about particular ranks.

Demotion between Gold to Silver or from the sub-divisions?

How I see it, if you are likely to be demoted you will simply be demoted over from through you play. You will eventually reach around your skill again through playing if you were demoted do to a losing streak (or you rank may be over inflated from a win streak). So you shouldn't worry about being demoted and you should simply take breaks when you hit losing streaks.

If you see your self improving over time then your rank will climb. You can look at past stats to see if you are improving at na.op.gg.

I have noticed a lot of improvement in my play from last season, thus I have seen my rank climb a bit higher. I am starting to hit a ceiling though and I just need to improve as player and I recognize that.

I’m in a somewhat strange spot where I’m finding increased success when I change tactics. For example:

  • When I started taking flash more often

  • When I started itemizing for the short term over the long term

  • When is started playing the champs that can carry

At the risk of sounding like every bronze player, I always thought I was better than the division I was in. What I’m slowly learning is that skill alone isn’t going to get you out of Bronze if you take Maokai support with a TP/exhaust summoners. I’ve been trying to get over my own stubbornness. So far I can see its effects. But occasionally I get in matches (like Monday) where someone is either trolling or so clueless they might as well be, and that’s when I just walk away. I’ll try again tonight but it’s excruciating sometimes.

As you get better, you will realize it is sometimes better to buy items based on need and forgo completing the highest tier of the item.

For example, I sometimes want to complete item 3110 or item 3025 first when I play Nasus. But if the mid laner is AP and the jungler is also AP while the top laner is AD and they BOTH keep coming to my lane, I will begin to start some magic resist items or fast complete item 3111.

I found once I began buy based on need rather than trying to just build and complete the final item, my play began to improve. I started doing that when I was mid-silver last season.
