I've been playing league since open beta season one and even have a browser Rammus skin to prove it. I've peaked within the highest points of Silver and with my superior knowledge of this game and all things League I can confirm that this change will entirely break league of legends making the game unplayable.

We will have to start perma banning the new rift Harold. Like wtf rito? a monster that can destroy turret and i can't even draw it's aggro towards me!!!111???/ Listen I've been playing this game so long it's gonna screw over everyone and I must create a thread and complain about every new thing that will be added to league of legends because new = always broken duh look at Camille perfect exampler.

Although the community has been wrong about things being gamebreaking such as plants, the community (and I am talking about boards reddit, etc...) is also right about things such as Jinx W critting being too strong I think this is just an example of something like the Jinx buffs that we don't need to see in the works to know that it is complete bs and needs to be removed before it ruins live games

The thing is, the plants were worse before they took the RNG factor out of them. I mean, to me, plants are still pointless change for the sake of change and I hate them, but we were right until Riot altered their spawns.

There are concepts and balance changes that are just inherently bad on face value alone. The new Rift Herald is one of them.

For all the talk about the changes people have freaked out about incorrectly, there are many instances when the community overwhelmingly expressed skepticism or dislike for an idea and it was perfectly valid----see; Dynamic Queue, Mordekeiser changes, Juggernaut update, release Azir and his many bugs and so on. All of those were issues that the community expressed legitimate concerns about and all of them turned out to have significant balance implications that are still prevalent.

Sometimes you don't have to "wait and see" if something is going to be a bad idea, you know it on sight.

Plants eventually turned out okay and DQ quite literally caused a huge spike in the downward direction of the playerbase in ranked. I'm not sure which side of the fence you are trying to argue for as those two things were in the complete opposite direction.

People said both were terrible, and at least one was completely terrible. Again, not sure what your point is here.

Don't just disregard complaints because they're too early. They still have some merit. DynaQ was shit, plants were shit. Plants weren't as bad as DynaQ, but they didn't add anything good.

Point being that opinions on what's terrible and what's not don't neccessarily are the same. It's not up to you or "most of the players" (aka the abysmally tiny part of the playerbase that voices their opinion on the boards) to define what's good and what's not.

People bitched about DynamicQ because "muh boosted players". People were jealous, that's all. "He got platinum but didn't earn it while I was stuck on gold 3." Well, then your gold 3 is worth far more than this boosted monkey's rank.

I'm not sure what drives me more bonkers, the "OMG THE WORLD WILL BURN" over exaggerations, or the "Guys it will be totally fine, trust Riot" posts.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to add 2 and 2 and get to 4 with this specific change. You don't have to be flailing around and foaming at the mouth angry about it to realize it is going to break top lane 100% for whoever has it. It is absolutely obvious.

The problem is Riot's reception of criticism. If no one freaks out and runs around with their hair on fire, and instead, makes calm posts about disliking some change, they see it as "well it's not being received well, but they'll get used to it." It's only by panicking over every single bad decision that we sometimes manage to get their attention, however brief it may be.

Honestly, by what comparison.

If you're talking about it's Damage or Ruggedness. That simply a numbers issue. Are the numbers on the PBE overtuned? Most likely. Will they still be over tuned when it goes live? Possibly. Will they continue to be over tuned? Probably not.

But then there's the fundamental aspect of it. Which is simply having a monster as a sixth member capable of pushing waves. The closest analog to it on the Rift would be Mord with his Dragonforce. And the Closets analog not on the rift would be the Poro King. So conceptually, this isn't exactly new. And I seriously doubt there's anything wrong on a fundamental level.

played a game on the pbe darius got fed, got rift herald. while everyone was busy trying to shoot down our bot lane. ( i was support anivia and got fed asf) the darius went from tier 2 turret to inhib turret then from there to inhib itself i didnt watch it go down but i can assume without a good team effort herald will rek sht i need to see more games though.

Or how about the towers are buffed so they don't feel like paper mache anymore, the Herald gets reduced charge damage, and has a slowly decreasing health bar over time after activation, and THEN we can wait.

OR better yet, just get rid of Herald completely.

While I don't agree with the Boards' sentiment that this is what "ruins the game", I really can't fault them for once here. Turrets are already pretty useless, and Riot basically decides to add in a turret demolisher, kind of hard not to be a upset.
