on hit effects and wards. How does Sona work now?

Title kind of explains the question. With the change to how some on-hit effect work against wards, how will Sona be effected? Do i use up my bonus damage from casting Q? Do i use up power chord if it's up and i go to hit a ward?

sona before and after patch did not consume power chord on wards. you will get the animation and effect noise but it will not be consumed.
