Future Vi Main looking for help

I'm in desperate need of advice when it comes to playing this champ. She's considered easy and pretty strong when I see her in game but she's one of those champs where despite how "easy" they are you just CAN'T Carry/Win with them.

I find myself at a lost when it comes to building items on her and her rune page set up.

Everytime I see someone else in game do good with her their build is COMPLETELY different from the previous persons setup.

I see some run eletrocute and some run aftershock. I see some vi's always go warrior while others always go cinderhulk. (some even go bloodrazor)

Flexibility is a good thing but I prefer to find a solid build and use it as my main build until significant changes (like with Shaco how you use to run thunderlord/eletrocute 100% but now darkharvest is way better)

As for items I know she builds trinity but that's about all I know. Some people say to get cleaver as well but it seems like a silly item when you have trinity. I don't understand how to build her at all and end up just feeding afer 15 minutes no matter how well my early game went

Depends on your play style and the champions you're with. If you got a team of all squishies you'll have to be tankier but if you have 2 tanks you'll need more damage. Also how well you're doing in the game can effect what you'll be building. For runes I would generally stick with electrocute. Domination + Inspiration until next patch then prob Domination + Precision

Vi is my most played champ, and i've been playing her most in the past two seasons.

My usual build usualy goes like this: item 1401item 3748item 3047item 3075item 3065item 3078

In really rare cases, if i know that i can snowball early (say i'm already 3/0 or more at 10 minutes) and that they have no assassins or champion that could 100-0 me if i'm stuck in a bad position, i'll go Warrior instead of Cinderhulk.

Obviously you can switchs items here and there depending on situation. Randuin might be better than Thornmail in some cases, sometimes i'll ditch TF for another tanky items, etc. Although i think her core item that i will ALWAYS build is item 3748, the AA reset does wonders on her with her W and press the attack.

If i got a lead i'll build damage item first, usualy in this order item 1401item 3748item 3078, and if i'm falling behind i'll get tanky items asap, Although i'll usualy get at least a item 3077 after my Cinderhulk.

I usualy prefer item 3078 over item 3071, although if my team is AD heavy and nobody has it, and that the enemy team is relatively tanky, i'll get BC instead so i can shred for my team.

I really like Press the Attack. It gives lots of burst and sustained damage for both you and your team if you can proc it (which should be easy with her AA resets from both her E and Titanic Hydra) If you land a Q or ult and then AA-E-T.Hydra you guarantee yourself both a W proc and a Press the Attack proc.

While ganking i'll usualy try to prioritize going in with frozen smite + Q, and keep my ult for after they flash or to secure the kill. But sometimes i'll just ult in, and Q the target enemy into my team.

Also don't hesitate to ult to peel for your carries, especially if you went the tanky route. Otherwise just dive their squishies once a teamfight has settled.

Edit: Also like you pointed out, her build is very versatile. She's one of those champions on which you can pretty much build anything and it'll work out. I just find my build the most safe and reliable (at least imho). You become really tanky, and it gives you all the damage you need in the lategame. I personnaly dislike damage-oriented Vi builds. Sure they might offer harder stomps when you do happen to snowball, but on the other hand you'll also fail harder when falling behind, and damage Vi just blows into pieces when she reaches lategame.

You can play her either as an assassin, or as a tank.

Either way, i find Electrocute to be the best keystone for her, but Aftershock does complement tank builds pretty well, especially since it now scales off of AD.

For her finished jungle item, Warrior is almost always the best for Vi, since she doesn't need cinderhulk to clear camps at all. Bloodrazor is also kinda fun if you go the "B" Vi build (bloodrazor, BOTRK, Black Cleaver, etc.) but it's only good into very specific teams.

Normally you want to start with Trinity Force OR Black Cleaver. If you chose Black Cleaver, then later you can chose Iceborn Gauntlet as a sheen item. However, as an assassin, Duskblade works really well.

Next, normally you want to start building tanky, no matter your playstyle, and Randuim's works great for this. Sterak's is also nice, especially if you play on building a sheen item, as it boosts your damage significantly while also making you much tankier. As an assassin, I usually like to take ghostblade second, but if you're against a Morgana or someone who you have a lot of trouble getting to, Edge of Night is actually a nice pick as well.

Vi isn't really meant to carry games, as an assassin she can pick off weak targets, or get them low enough to be picked off easily by your mid/adc, and as a tank she's meant to absorb damage and CC, while disrupting enemies with CC of her own and reducing their armor.
