ADCs now have to support themselves because the support didn't like being a support

The top ADCs it seems all have either hard cc or some form of camo/invis function. ADC now seems to have to protect themselves while the support just looks to deal damage. But since they are AP champs usually, they have better range, mobility, and early game damage to where the ADC usually has to really try to get that last hit for the kill gold (and usually they take some CS too).

Look at the pro games. We have Jhin, Varus, and ASHE as the top 3 ADCs it seems. ANd their supports? MF, Zyra, Malz. High damage dealers who end up taking all the kills.

I love how this is down voted but it's crazy true. I was just trying to explain to my Lux support that if she at least bought an eye of the watcher she'd be useful AND not broke.

it makes sense for something like a zyra or brand to take kills over something like ashe, a mage that can burst and make a bigger teamfight play is a better use of gold than having a bit more sustained damage than the other adc

Mage supports have been dominating support since season season 4 started. Adcs dont need kills they already take all the farm. they can get further ahead with kills but they arent needed one bit id rather my support not fall super behind from takeing kills than funneling all the kills into me and dieing everytime they step into lane because i already have more gold than them with farm and the enemy constantly being dead is an advantage in itself. maybe if supports didnt get nerfed every time adcs found it hard to farm which it should be harder in a lane with 2 people vs 2 people compared to a 1v1 lane supports would be more popular and if tank items didnt get nerfed every time adcs took 3 seconds to kill a 3 armor item tank and 5 seconds to kill a 5 armor item tank. you would have a front line and a secondary tank support.

Honestly, that's largely because of how quickly games end and the focus put on bottom lane.

Even if the lane is camped, the 'support' generally deals a decent amount of damage while low on items and the 'marksmen' has utility to remain relevant until they can get their items.
