My personal view on the Veigar update.

For starters, I like the changes. They're exciting and I love the idea of his Q being a skillshot. Although, it starts to get a tad bit iffy. They say they want Veigar to remain as a quintessential burst mage, so I don't understand one thing-- why is it much harder to LAND his burst?

Okay. Another thing that I don't quite get. They want Veigar to trap people inside the cage and not instantly stun them, okay. But what isn't realized here is that Veigar can't torment them like Riot says so. Simply because he's like the squishiest character in the game and meta mids are bursty, so if he does this 'torment', he'd die instantly.

Honestly, at the moment, I see him more of a poke mage than burst because of his Q being so great. You're not going to be E >W>Q>R ing as you use to anymore, I forsee it just being spamming your baleful strike at the enemy team.

Overall, I feel as if he's been changed into a poke mage and not burst which riot wanted him to stay into. Further proof is that his ult's damage was lowered.

@meddler or whoever is concerned, I'd like to discuss this.

The problem with burst mages is the same as assassins. Having a completely point and click, 100-0 burst potential is not something you can really play around. It can't be missed, and the only thing that you can do is poke from a long range, or have long ranged aoe to lock him down and kill him first. Both of which get harder when the burst mage has a fairly long ranged aoe stun that can lock you down for his whole burst.

I understand, but when it comes to certain champions like Veigar, you need to take other things into account. If you get 100-0'd by just his ult and q, then you did something terribly wrong. What went on in lane phase? Why did you step into his range, which is low? He's also risking the hell out of his life by stepping close to you, assuming you're a carry, you'll probably be near your team because he won't 100-0 you without his W earlier.
