Why am I not allowed to get 2 offensive items before I go tanky in the jungle?

http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/1736076316/50086536?tab=overview I got flamed all game by my bot lane and initiated every fight and constantly got the Lissandra and Skarner ultimates put onto me instead of Kog'Maw or Zed. And yet I still got flamed for "throwing and giving them 2 free kills and free drags." At that point in time I had one death because LIss flash ulted and they didn't even have a dragon.

I literally got flamed the entire game because I built BorK and Ravenous Hydra because I was doing most of our damage in fights and wanted more damage first because I wasn't dying anyways. I got flamed in all chat for "giving free kills and intentionally throwing the game." I was the reason Kog'Maw rarely died. The Zed who I was duoqued with and me both were our front line and initiated all of our fights, did damage, and burned summs and ults.

And at the end the Kog'Maw and Taric (who were duo) typed "report Shyv for toxic" (don't know why I just told them I can build what I want so piss off) and "Shyvana getting carried all game" (I got our Zed first blood and ganked constantly to get our team kills).

God I love soloq.

Well technically you got devourer so that's 3 damage items, but same difference. It can be good to keep building damage if your ahead as long as you don't get to crazy. Shyvana especially can do this because her passive gives her free armor and mr. People are dumb and get upset for no reason sometimes. If anyone does something different it must be wrong and worthy of hatred.

People act like they are the second coming of Jesus on the Internet, what's new?

Based on your story I would say you did pretty well. Shyvana going 2 offensive items isn't bad if she got a surplus of money in the early game from pulling off successful ganks etc, since she can gapclose and stick (and actually output damage) relatively well.

I'm not really the type to criticize people based on their builds (in chat), but they did actually have a point. You really did not need both. You went devourer, which, why? If you had just gone Warrior instead, you could've just skipped Hydra and built Sunfire or something useful instead.

I mean it's fine for that game, and they didn't have room to criticize, but in general it's a shitty idea.

Well, shyvanna only needs devourer and botrk, that's two offensive items, with a total of about 6k gold to finish. you built three if you finished your jungle item, which pushes the cost to around 9k. And on a jungler budget, not only is that unsafe, it's selfish, because a good 1k of that should be in wards, plus you have your boots to finish. Lastly, it doesn't really compliment your champ very well. If you're ahead, there is nothing wrong with two offensive items, but if you get behind, you become a liability if you're not a cc heavy champ, and shyvanna isn't one.

Shyvana's most effective as a bruiser, meaning 1-2 offensives and load up on defensives considering she isn't CC heavy at all. As was said above, having 3 offensives is unsafe and selfish - wards are a huge part of the game, be it upgrading your trinket or buying pinks/sightstone. Granted, you did fine that game, however as a general rule you may want to get away from spending 9k on offensives when you're part of the frontline.

The thing that particularly bother me is Kog'Maw's horrific CS numbers.

unless you are like 5-0, or something ridiculous like that really early on, you should be building a tankier item after your first item, assuming your first buy is warriors. The reason you do so is because the jungling income is rather low, so once teamfights break out later on in the game, you wont be able to absorb any damage, and your carries will go down instantly. It is just safer to build tankiness first and then if you feel like you are tanky enough later, than go damage.
