Mordekaiser feels almost the same to me

Not mechanics wise, that's very different and I like him he's fun.

What I mean is that Old Mordekaiser pretty much dominated immobile melee champs and some immobile ranged ones that aren't able to kite that well like MF or Kog'maw. While being dominated by people with a crap ton of mobility because he couldn't catch up with them.

This morde feels the exact same.

You're still prone to being set so far behind you turn into a minion because once your flash is down ganks are pretty much instant death.

He still is obnoxious to lane against because of how much he can heal and being resourcless

He still dominates in 1v1s and gets his ass kicked when its vs a mobile champ like zed or vayne who can just run away from him while still hitting him for a lot of damage.

As broken as everyone says he is I feel like he is in the same but slightly stronger spot that Old Mordekaiser was. He's still drenched in counterplay/counterbuild options. If anything gets touched it's probably gonna be his passive but that's only really good when someone is dumb enough to stay on top of you or when you get rylais to stick. Which it still doesn't do jack to someone like zed who can just W away.

I mean... a slow, relatively immobile bruiser that absolutely mauls squishies that can't get away, but has serious trouble catching highly mobile folks... Isn't that describing most of the juggernaut class as a whole? Aatrox Darius DrMundo Garen Illaoi Urgot Yorick

not really aatrox or urgot but yes

Aatrox's Qs are heavily telegraphed. If you have proper mobility you should be able to properly dodge his blows.

Urgot is heavily susceptible to mobility, if you can't land his (quite telegraphed) dash then there's usually very little you can actually do to a mobile champ, and even then if it's someone like Zed or LB they can blink away

Aatrox yes, slow Q animations and lack of E charges, is only compensated if he gets BOTH Phage passive Ultimate's movement speed gain procced together.

In before people say, "But Aatrox has dashes and a speed boost!", he's susceptible to being kited like Darius: Slowed. Not to mention if you slow him good enough, you can easily dodge his E Q's.

In terms of escape options, I'd say only Illaoi and Darius match up.

Aatrox has Q + W + E + R. Mundo has Q + R. (plus W tenacity) Garen has Q. (plus W tenacity) Urgot has Q and E. (and potentially W as well to reduce slow effects so long as he isn't shooting anything) Yorick has E and W.

But yeah, it's not an issue, this is how juggernauts are supposed to function but they're given the tools to potentially 1v2 more reliably than others to make up for this weakness.

This is exactly how juggernauts are meant to be lol

Why play immobile juggernauts when mobile juggernauts like Irelia exist?

I dont think irelia is a juggernaut. She's a fighter with the subclass skirmisher/duelists i believe

Irelia is not a juggernaut.

Your right she's tankier

You just described his intended weakness as part of the juggernaut class. There is nothing wrong with that. It's exactly the same with Darius, Illaoi, Yorick etc.

That means it's a good rework. Champ is more fun gameplay-wise, but fills the same / similar niche. Don't get why there's any complaint.

Exaclty, better, both gameplay, no bugs and hotter wise.

I love the champion. He feels like a true king that can take on armies by himself, only problem is that he actually can. I wouldn't be surprised if they hotfix nerf his early sustain and magic penetration. I think his damage is in the right spot, and the issue is that he needs to be a bit more punishable in lane.

Yeah, I played a decent bit of old morde right before the rework so I could get a feel for the playstyle, and I have to completely agree. It feels VERY similar, and honestly old morde was just as strong in the situations where he thrived. I definitely enjoy new morde more, but the feeling of playing morde is definitely still the same. Gj Riot. The only thing I'll miss is having a pet fucking dragon, that was dope. Hope one day they make like a dragon mage or some shit who get's that kinda ult.
