Yi is an unhealthy champion with guinsoos

Title.

I dont care what people say, let's establish a few things.

#1 yi is fucking braindead #2 the way yi wins fights is fucking braindead #3 there are healthier ways to be a late game champion. Veigar is a late game champion but still has SOME level of counterplay. Kaisa as fucking annoying as she is still has SOME avenues of counterplay. Yi just presses R and point and clicks you down like a motherfucker.

To be fair a late game fed Veigar's only counterplay is cooldown on his ult.

Let's go over some options. First, you can try to stay out of range, but that won't always work for you.

item 3812: You can delay 30% of the damage and then heal it up, should keep you alive item 3072: Build up a shield beforehand item 3026: What Veigar ult? item 3157: What Veigar ult? item 3102: What Veigar ult? item 3190: Have your support grab one of these item 3814: Plan ahead summoner 21: Plan ahead item 3040: Shield

Of those, if a Veigar is fed off his ass only 2 will probably work in a 1v1 scenario(maybe 4 if the Veigar is dumb enough to ult while Edge of Night or Banshee's Veil is up). Unless you're straight up building full MR. We're talking about a FED Veigar. Fed Veigars are unusual cases in which point any squishy will die instantly. I haven't tested Death's Dance and it might block enough if you're an auto attack based champion, but a fed Veigar(which again, doesn't usually happen) usually reaches the point where unless you're building like 3 MR items you're gonna die from an ult. If not, he has two highly spammable abilities that can deal just as much damage as his ult late game if he's fed.

He's slow as shit... zhonya's wrecks him... the ability to dodge and banshee's wrecks him... you can build tank and wreck him...

He's countered by a ton of things.

Yi can build bloodrazors/botrk/rageblade/essense reaver/GA/mercs and auto every champ in the game down in 3 seconds or less with % damage and true damage. "Focus the yi" is great.... until you mix in taric/morg/zilean/whatever.

By far and large my biggest issue with Yi is no matter how poorly he plays.. if his team doesn't lose an inhib by 30 minutes in... he suddenly becomes a monster.

25 minutes in your 8/2/14 lee suddenly starts getting murdered by the 2/9/4 Yi. 30 minutes in Yi has gone from 2/9/4 down 30 CS to passing Lee up in CS and 7/10/6. 40 minutes in he's 14/10/10 and wins a 2v1 while splitpushing and takes inhib.

Dude really needs better early game... and a nerf late.

he's rather antifun both to play, and to play against. Guy literally straight farms for 20 minutes only popping out of jungle to pick off people that massively overstay at low hp, or to defend towers (more cs). Hypercarry is one thing... but Yi just outright does more damage autoing that any champ should. Much of it being % and true.

And mr, and healing, and sidesteping his w or q (he cant one shot with ulti alone unless you are damaged), and zhonyas, and banshee's, and maw's, and ga.

You can't even one shot anymore with Veigar ult.

This is a very unproductive way to present an argument. You just say lets establish things and present abunch of your biased opinions.

MasterYi is among the many champions that are brutalized by a proper hard CC chain.

Yes, he can pop his R - but 1. he only gets 7 seconds on it if he doesn't kill an enemy champion, after which it's on a long cooldown (85 seconds), and 2. it also only avoids slows and cripples - not stuns, airborne, suppression, or hard CC generally.

His multi-target damage is very weak - his Q and item 3087 offer some, but mostly he has to chase champions down one at a time. So there are, up to late-midgame, usually many opportunities to shut him down by CC'ing his initiations and chunking him down - and when he is not good, he is abysmal. A hurt MasterYi who is not seriously ahead cannot initiate and contributes some of the least to a teamfight of any champion out there.

He is really only the world-beating point-and-click ez-freelo that a lot of you are trying to imply if he's feasted on a lot of early mistakes by your team. He loves and in some sense almost must have a steady diet of champions pushed too far, unprotected enemy jungle objectives, and the like, in order to become a scary-carry.

Deny him these things early and you seriously don't have to fear him very much late, no matter what else you're hearing on this thread to the contrary.

Oh get out of here.

Any bruiser/assassin/diver/whatever is brutalized by a hard cc chain.

Yi needs MORE counterplay than that.

I honestly wouldnt care if they gave yi a couple more early game tools to get by if it meant that his late game wouldnt be the dumbest fuckign kamikaze delete everything in 2 seconds or get deleted in 2 seconds playstyle.

Oh get out of here.

Are we just jumping right into the sandy-underwear stage of the discussion?

I'd suggest playing him a few times so that you can see that he isn't an instawin champion, and exactly how to shut him down.

He's the lowest RP/BE tier, you can grind enough BE to get him in a day of playing, and you'll very much find out that he's not a free win, or even all that high on the "cancerous playstyles" list. I'd nominate Teemo Singed Yasuo Irelia as way more unbalancing and in need of changes before I'd even think of touching MasterYi. With all due respect to this thread, Teemo is still the king of "point and click with no counterplay", at least versus any autoattack-based champion, Singed turns the entire game into a format-warped mixture of solitaire and tag and requires the entire enemy team to play around him in order to shut down his roams, and Yasuo Irelia having near-unlimited dashes on minions allows them to repeatedly dodge and zero out potential interactions against a whole host of champions.

But even those champs are quite beatable if you know how.

The game is just not that broken. I wish a lot of people on these forums would get out of the habit of coming back here to complain after a stomp and instead try to learn the proper counterpicks, or mentally revisit their match to see what they could have done differently - and yes, there's just about always something. Half the time these "no counterplay" posts happen after a bunch of bad mistakes that feed someone to pieces. A fed MasterYi is indeed often a no-interactions-possible nightmare, but only if he's really far ahead - and you can say that about half the roster if they're fed enough.

try playing yi against any team that has a decent amount of cc and see how braindead he is

AirKingNeo1 votes

so how does that relate to guinsoo's???

summoner 3 is useless against him too. He can't be slowed and he has mostly true damage, which is untouched by exhaust. There is nothing you can do against him
