This game could grow if i were able to invite friends without being 2,508,322.9% better than them

But lets be honest, its not possible.

The experience needed to have a decent game makes it a literal job to play with ACTUAL new players. **You think the players in your game are bad? Try someone in their first game ever.... ** The skill floor in league is insane. And losing feels insanely terrible in league versus other games.

One of the best parts of any game, is playing it, then wanting your close friends to play with you, and sure a friend may drag me down, but its not gonna be to the extent that it is in league. League has too much to learn. Its too different from the normal games people play. Its literally unplayable unless everyone is new or seasoned and nothing in between.

Ive tried playing with multiple friends, but the awkwardness of the 0/15/0 scores usually ends it. And i think this is one of the main reasons why league is no longer leading the pack.

What I would love is a coaching feature for normal games, where someone can join a live, team locked spectate of a friend who is below silver MMR. It would be better if a set of specialized pings (even if they are only the regular pings but colored differently, or tone shifted on their sounds) could be used that show up only for the person being spectated.

I know useful tutorials are hard in a game that changes so fast (looking at you Thornmail Ashe), but giving players the tools needed to teach each other would be absolutely fantastic.

That's true tho , but the main reason why League isn't leading anymore is the toxicness or players

Just play with them in Co-op vs AI. Sure it's not quite as fun as a norm, but they'll learn the ropes of the game, and when they get used to the basic they can try norms. Also you could go crazy and try troll sh*t like full AP Yasuo, crit-attack speed Maokai, etc, since you are playing vs bots.

LoL's learning curve is massive, and since games are becoming more snowbally, it is even more unforgivable to new players, ESPECIALLY with all the smurfs that will make sure to stomp new players. In fact there are so many smurfs, that when you play low-level, everyone assumes that everybody else is a smurf (at least thats what happened to me when an european friend wanted me to create a smurf on EUW)

You could try playing with them in a Moba that has a smoother learning curve, like HoTS, although you'd risk them growing fond of that game and not wanting to switch to LoL.

Also, once they get used to the basics in coop vs AI, you could try some Arams, so they can also get used to the chaos of teamfights. Both of these combined make a great stepping stone for norms.

Well actually aram is my go to, but league has a certain "if you fight you die, unless you do it perfectly" mechanic, and thats hard for players of other games to grasp. They dont want to walk around doing nothing until the time is right. My buddy actually didnt get his first kill participation(assist or kill) until his 4th full aram. Co-op vs ai is a good idea though.

You're not wrong but then the question becomes how to fix it? There's not really any possible way. People will not stop smurfing and there will always be a skill level difference if you play with someone new.

I’m not gonna say that I disagree with you. You’re right: there’s a lot to learn in this game. There’s a multitude of micro and macro-play mechanics that you have to learn. The skill-floor, or the minimum skill level required to play competently, is pretty high. However, I do also think it’s a little unfair to point at League being the sole example, and I don’t think it’s wrong to have that so long as you set up an accurate expectation. Starcraft 2, and most RTS games in general, have higher skill floors than most other types of games. Heck, even Overwatch, which seems like a pretty simple MOBA in comparison, have some pretty strict mechanical requirements to play competently. League does even market itself as a highly competitive game. To me, at least, this implies a high skill ceiling and even a skill floor.
