This tank Ekko thing

It's time to bury it. Ekko is supposed to be played as a skirmisher, almost the ultimate mix of cunning, mechanical skill, and intuition. Tank Ekko removes that necessity entirely. As an AP Ekko player since his release (I have never ONCE gone tank), the fact that this play style works is insulting. Ekko is a great champion, with possibly the highest counterplay among assassins.

With that out of the way, here's my suggestion: Nerf the bases of some abilities, and change all the slows in his kit to scale out of AP. If necessary make the stun 1 second rank one and current duration at max rank.

It saddens me that it's come to this, but frankly it's better than continuing to be insulted by this disgusting display.

Edit: At the timing of this edit, he is/was being played Mid Tank in the LCK.

but ekko was just mindlessly buffed by riot. I have been banning ekko for 2+ patches now, being aware of the problem before most.

This is now the 2nd time tank Ekko has come back. If they don't KILL the possibility, it will happen again. Only cooldowns and mana costs were buffed, meaning he still has the stats to pull off a tank build.

this is so annoying to fight, i mostly see tank assassins.. quite awkward because it's not meant to be built tanky

You ever think that maybe its not ekko, but because ap itemization sucks in general? Its not just Ekko, its Rumble & Akali as well.

AP Ekko does not work to the full extent like a tank Ekko. Firstly it's hard to get his W/stun off in teamfights without being blown up. Tank Ekko does not have to worry about that, and basically his stun is eliminated if he goes AP.

Also, he loses lane pretty hard to Zed, and a couple of others who nearly one shot him and wreck hi day. Xerath is just flat out OP as shit, but there are tons of mid laners that wreck him. As an Ekko main, jungle Ekko is the best, and half tank, half AP is the best build.
