Assasin's need to be moved to the Jungle.

I've been saying this since season 4 but wouldn't a lot of the issues people have with Assassins be remedied by them being geared towards the jungle as opposed to lanes?

The biggest issue people seem to have with assassins in how binary and oppressive they can be to lane against since assassins revolve around going in and gibbing people, and their kit basically necessitates this for them to properly function.

This creates a one sides dichotomy for the laning phase and can cause Assassin's to snowball out of control. But of course this happens.

Its not different than sending an ADC top versus a tank or sending a Teemo top. Its their natural counter.

The reason this isn't done all the time in theses other cases however is because it is more beneficial to have these champions be in different roles or positions and having them take em up comes at a cost.

There is currently no cost for putting an assassin Mid up against a Mage other than if your Assasin is AD, in which case you have to compensate by having an AP top or AP jungler to pick up the slack.

Not only that, but design-wise and thematically, the jungle should be the ideal place to put an assassin, as their kits and tools are best utilized throughout the entire game there, as opposed to sitting though lane just throwing one spell out over and over hoping you don't die til 6 so u can finally gib your target and roam like the assassin you are supposed to be.

The problem with this comes down to 1 thing. Assassins as a whole tend to not do so hot in the jungle since they can't properly clear or are designed to much on snowballing as opposed to being opportunist's like their class sake should be.

In all reality, their are in fact some Assassins that already call the jungle their home, like Shaco. And although Shaco is a bitch to deal with, he is the Assassin that gets the least amount of complaints because he is relegated to the jungle to be most effective.

I have been playing Talon Jungle since Season 4 and although is isn't safe to do at all in a serious environment, I have continued to look for ways to make it work and have always found a way, and despite him being my main since season 3 and playing him primarily Mid and Top, playing him in the Jungle is honestly always been the most fun I ever have with him, whether it be because of the tools he gained access to, or just the environment feeling more "right" for Talon, since his kit is actually incredible for ganks. As are most Assasins.

Despite me doing this with Talon Jungle regularly, the first time o did it was with Katarina Jungle, and it was in fact the first time I ever used the champion. Pretty much the same applies.

The jungle position even curbs any snowballing issues significantly.

I don't know. Just something that has been bothering me for a long time and I felt i needed to share it. If Riot could look into making Assassin's primary home the Jungle the same way Mid lane is the primary avenue for Mages, and made it to where they are more compelled to move their instead of in lanes, and to where they are more effective in the jungle as opposed to lanes, things would be a lot less of an issue, because right now, they don't really give up anything for going Mid the same way other lane ClassVClass counterpicks do.

Being in the jungle has never stopped making people complain about any assassin.

Rengar, Fizz, Kha'zix, Evelynn, Nocturne, Yi, Pantheon and Shaco will always draw complaints whenever they are strong (or viable, honestly).

Quite frankly, people will complain about whatever beats them, regardless of which lane they occupy.

I find Fizz Jungle gets way less complaints unless she is building Bruiser, which is more of a problem with Bruiser Fizz than Fizz Jungle. As for Rengar and Evelynn, that is more an issue with them inherently as opposed to them being assasins. Hell, Rengar is basically a Bruiser that can instagib you like an assassin with assassin tools, while Evelyn is a squishy that likes to build as a bruiser. Same applies to Nocturne too really. Hell even Pantheon.

In fact, a lot of complaints about Assasins tends to crop up when they can or are lead to build defense, because it is inherently toxic.

Yi is a Melee Carry, his is a completely different flavor of Bullshit, along with Fiora and Tryndemere.

While there will always be complaints regardless of the champion, I think there is merit to the issue of Assassins crowding Mid lane, as like I said before, one doesn't give up enough by doing so, unlike every other lane where alternate picks mean sacrificing something.

The only risk in doing so in the risk of the Assassin falling behind and being useless all game, which is not only just a bad design element for the game as a whole, but means they are far too well rewarded for doing well, which they are designed to do against mages anyway.

The only problem I see is that it's a lot easier to keep track of laning assassins.

Which I'd argue is actually a bad thing as it ruins the point of an assassin to some degree.

And even then, keeping tabs on the enemy jungler is equally the teams job. Even so, keeping tabs on said Assassin becomes less of an issue when they are in the jungle since they aren't snowballing so hard like they are in lane due to using jungle funds and EXP.
