Amumu is insanely strong

I just got 1v1d at level 6 in the jungle by an amumu as JAX. We had the same items, he didnt kite me around waiting for cooldowns or any of that shit, he just stood there trading blows with me until I died and he had 300 hp left. Of course dueling isn't supposed to be amumu's forte and he was able to shit on my team almost 1v5 throughout mid game until i got a sated and crapped on them(but thats a different issue). Does amumu really need to do as much damage as he does? he can 100-0 almost anyone at level 6

Nope, I've got to. 100-0? He ONE SHOT YOU?!?! Amumu's kit is literally designed around tanking... resisting AA's, and doing % HP DMG per second... if you had no MR... and stood in his tears... you lost because you just didn't play logically.
