How to make Support more FUN!

I noticed that in basketball games I actually enjoy playing the point guard role and assisting my teammates. (Basically supporting them) While they score most of the points, however in LOL I have no interest in playing that role, and I feel like the thing that separates normal supports (Not mages obviously) from that is their inability to make mechanically rewarding plays, Thresh (This Lee Sin of Bot lane aside) There's a reason why Thresh is the most popular support, he just rewards good players more than other supports. Janna Janna just stands back and shields the adc, her best mechanic is aiming her tornado. I think Alistar Ali is cool just not meta atm. Leona Leona is so easy even a caveman could do her job. Soraka Raka is a joke lol. Sona Sona only has her ult stun to make plays, which is honestly a pretty bad ult. I think every support needs atleast one skill that is both game changing and mechanically rewarding to be fun to play.

Thresh Thresh would be the best champion to draw from, he is a very mechanical support, Alistar too if he was meta. Leona is just too easy to play, you make plays but nothing separates a 20 game Leona from a 200 game one. And Soraka, Sona, and Janna all lack something game-changing, though Janna and Sona are close atleast compared to Soraka who needs a full on rework lol. Sona's ult is kind of game changing but its just not as good as other ults, I say make it harder to hit, but reward hitting it more. Janna's tornados are interesting, but not dynamic it would be cool if she could call her tornado back, sucking in teammates so she could then ult and heal them lol, maybe something less OP but still something dynamic. Soraka is just a boring champion, I like the silence zone she can create its the only skill in her kit, maybe expand on that more. To be honest, she heals enough I'd rather her ult be something that's not just more fucking healing!

"Boring", less mechanically-intensive champs are there for a reason. If every support were Thresh/Zyra/Lulu levels of complex, who would new players learn basic game knowledge on?

And don't be dissing in m'girl, Janna. She's pretty good with these mobile af champs running around the Rift. She's strong but in a different way. There's also thinking on when you should give up your W movespeed to help your team or when to ult. She's easy to pick up but still good into higher ranks.

Lulu is complex but... she's still more protective.

Now I've said this before and I'll say it again, though. The REAL thing that would make support more fun...   #Give supports' plays more visibility and impact.

A Janna shield may turn the tide of a fight but it's not particularly... flashy. Zyra E's aren't really flashy, either. She gets the job done, though! Don't get me wrong. I love Zyra! She's my current main. But others seem to go to Brand still despite being shorter-range, single-target lockdown (vs. Zyra potential to catch entire teams) because his plays are just... noisier. :V

Look at the visibility of Taric ults, Lulu ults, etc. Those are high points of a support's life. Sorakas just don't... feel all that exciting compared. Redemption was a step in the right direction... very visible (and on release, very impactful).

Supports' impact is behind-the-scenes a lot of the time, which can turn away people from the role because they want flashy play. They'd pick the Azir over the Anivia mid. The Yasuos as well.
