Buffing Sona's early game
So i know there is a buff to her E in the PBE, and i will admit i think that will help, but i really think she needs more power in her early game. Since her rework, that game has been changing, evolving, becoming faster. Champions have gotten faster, stronger, and have kits that just do MORE now then they did 6-7 year ago. Sona mean while as stayed the same or gotten worse. Eating nerf after nerf when ever someone finds some trick with support items that multiple champions can use. Or find a 1 off pairing that allows her to break traditional rules of being a support. The items get changed/nerfed, the strategy gets removed, but Sona never gets back that bit of power they removed for the sake of balance. Time passes and that problematic "thing" Sona use to do, is now introduced on to a new champion. Champions designed to be fair in other lanes find their way into support roles. Where high damage as a support was frowned upon, now we have multiple long range mage supports that are viable. Where high damage use to mean high mana costs, we now have loads of champion who can go hard and keep a healthy mana pool.
The buffs don't need to be traditional stuff like more personal damage, more sustain, turning her slow into a root, etc... But she does need to DO SOMETHING during the lane phase. I suggest that instead of buffing Sona's personal numbers, instead buff her ability to help her ally(s). Make it matter when an enemy champion takes a hit from an ally Sona has buffed with her Q. Make getting away from a Sona sped up enemy much more of a hassle, maybe they can't use movement speed boosts or gap closers (like
) for a couple seconds after being hit by that unit. There are so many things that could be done to buff Sona that don't boil down to "Sona gets into range and does 2000+ damage, because full combo while she has
