The failure of new sion

I remember that people used to say that sion's old kit was a mess. And that was true. His passive as RNG. His Q point and click CC. His W was useless if AD. His E was and R were fine, but the rest of his kit made literally no sense to support both abilities. But new sion is even worse. Every single ability scales with a different stat. Q and R with AD ( very little AD on R ). W with ap and health. E with ap. His Q makes no sense to the rest of his kit. He should be able to dish heavy CC in short time to support his "playstyle". But after you ult, you have to wait 2 FUCKING SECONDS to channel your Q to maximum potential? Also, there is nothing easier to dodge than his ult and his Q. W is a failure too. If riot gave it maximum health damage, means that they had no idea what to do with that ability. E is one of the MOST TRASH ABILITIES I have ever seen. The range is pathetic, easy to dodge, low base damage. Also, riot fucked up both his health per level and base health and also nerfed his passive health gain killing minions. It makes 0 sense. I am not even going to talk about his passive. Varus can kite that

Q and R scale with AD because that's his main source of damage. They both have lower scalings though because they're directly tied to hard CC and his R has the ability to get you across the map in no time.

I don't know why W scales with AP, but I guess as an incentive to build something like triforce? The % health part is the main damage part though.

E scales off AP primarily because of it's armor shredding and slowing utility. Armor shredding is the very notable part here. I concede I think it should be a tad longer. There are lots of champions with seemingly random AP scalings in their kits, but it's because they don't want it being the ability(ies) that scale and do all the damage. It also allows them to increase the abilities base damages to help out early games before you can buy items. Again, it also makes something like triforce a slight bit more attractive.

As for charging up Q, it's not meant to always hit at the 2 second mark. That's why it can CC at 50%. Around halfway is when the average Q should be hitting. The 2 second mark is a bonus for chaining it with an ally's CC. Or it's a punishment for your enemy for not reacting to what you're doing. If you think Q is always meant to hit at 2 seconds you're mistaken.

You can't lane as sion. On jungle, if someone for some goddamn gets ganked by you, they are immobile and pushing hard. His stats also sucks. He CC himself to cc people that has chance to no get CC'ed. New sion is as bad as old, but old could still be played effectively

Sion was my favorite champ before the rework. As I've said on other threads it wasn't because I won every game with him but because I enjoyed the champion over all(AP was tons of fun.) He seems to have been reworked into ANOTHER tankydps/bruiser that is so dramatically different from the original Sion(AP) that it could have easily been a new champ altogether. I know the folks @ riot have a lot to worry about with balancing champions viability etc. AND that should be the key factor in decision making. However, new Sion is definitely NOT as good(fun) in my opinion. This observation is purely from a non-competitive perspective.

I just played a game where Tanky Diana was more Tanky than Undead Jeggernaut . When AP carry has more sustain than Melee bruiser that should tell you something about the state of the champion .

Diana's an AP carry, when she's building tanky? That doesn't make sense as she was always envisioned as an AP bruiser though I think she became an assassin for a while.

Also, does Diana have 2 hard CC abilities and a single target/possibly multi target slows and armor shred?

No , diana kit has Aoe strong damage without delay, a AoE slow that drags people to her, decent damage. Sion has a bunch of things that are easy to miss
