Replace Bond of Stone with Strength of the Ages or something new

Since item 3109 is now an item (basically Bond of Stone with better stats and a healing factor), Bond of Stone seems kinda pointless to have. So could you bring back Strength of the Ages or maybe create something new to replace it with?

Soraka and item 3069 are basically summoner 7 but with shorter cooldown and better healing factors :J

item 3174 and item 3504 are basically windspeaker's except better stats and stack.

They also stack with windspeakers in a good way though. item 3109 stacks in a worse way with Bond of Stone.

worse how? you'd be surprised how much a measly 4% can be sometimes, it had to be nerfed because people were taking it top lane when it was I believe 4% all the time. honestly yea I can see how it sounds like a boring mastery but supports have so many actives and combos and skills to worry about we really just need those stat stick masteries to not get so overwhelmed sometimes.

Worse for the holder since they are now taking 18% damage, 12 of which is true damage. While yes for the other champion it is great, the holder can end up being shredded sometimes. I'm not saying it is awful, but it is not a win/win like the others mentioned.

well often the person building it is building tank which includes hp. 12%-18% (one of which is single target and not aoe to be sure) of damage the other person takes can feel like a ton to the mid or adc who may have at max 2k health while you'll be at minimum twice that and 4 times as tanky so it won't feel like a lot to you. plus the 40 bonus armor it gives total of 60 is a shit tonne of stats for an item that costs so little. also if you stick it on your highest dpser in a fight it can end up benefitting you if they stay relatively safe increasing your tank even more. also remember the mastery gives %reduction before applying the damage so it's not like it's just like "yer teammates killed you" often I'll only see it gave 100-400 damage depending on how late in the game to me in fights, which I'll gladly take if it kept my team alive with some pseudo tank stats.

whooh I haven't been on these forums in quite a bit have I?

The damage is true damage, which means the Armor/MR stats don't apply. And while the reduced damage is alright from Bond of Stone, you are still taking 100-400 damage (like you said) sometimes. Also, I am asking to change the mastery not the item. item 3109 is great. But it takes most of the specialty from BoS, and as a mastery, they should offer a somewhat strong and unique benefit, or something worth having 2 or more of. Warlord's Bloodlust gives free Life Steal, up to 20% which is a ton (but only if low). This can be a game changer sometimes. Thunderlord's is completely unique. DFT is similar to item 3151 but works for both AD and AP users and gives a powerful DOT which can finish off some players who are escaping a fight. Bond of Stone is just a weaker item 3109 with a small amount of damage resistance.

Why should I get it over the other 2 "tanky/supportive" masteries, CotC which gives me a massive shield and Undying Grasp which heals me each basic every 4 seconds in combat for a % of my max health and hurts opponents for the same amount? I would I want item 3109 and BoS over having item 3109 and another mastery like Grasp or COtC which can help in my own survivability? Personally I would prefer item 3109 and taking Grasp or CotC so I can either heal more and damage more, or so I can negate a lot of the incoming damage form other sources besides item 3109 and live longer to help my carry take less damage.

I agree it's a slightly boring mastery, but then again windspeaker's gives a passive "shields are stronger" and that's not a whole lot more interactive except for bolstering an ability that not everyone has, namely shielding vs taking damage, of which I'd say pretty much everyone is capable of doing. but remember this mastery used to be a whole lot stronger than it is now and it may not seem like it by the numbers if you'd been scouring the patches like I do it was enough that people were taking it almost exclusively toplane instead of GotU that was designed for them.

You don't have a Soraka in every game
