I love how Rito is getting rid of Strength of the Ages, but Fervor remains

MonkeyMadness··19 votes·1,249 views

ik it's not finalized yet, but this is seriously disturbing shit. Riot has taken literally the only keystone that a jungler can really benefit from (the stacking HP from killing camps). And while the replacement does seem very cool, I see literally no reason to ever invest points in resolve now. Thunderlords and Fervor are now the only keystones worth running on most champs, welcome to the fucking worst damage creep meta in the history of this game.

There is a post somehwere with Medler stating that fevor will also get changed, but im too lazy to link it now.

Ya, I actually just saw that, but the fact that the change wasn't even notable enough to mention should be cause for alarm.

Its probably still in testing, and not in a state that they are confident to say what it is. Trying to play devil advocate while dancing on a minefield is the feeling they are having now. but your probably also right anyway XD

Fervor changes didn't make it in time. They'll be up in a few hours today.

I love how Rito isn't even done releasing their preseason patch yet and you're already complaining about a TENTATIVE change. [slayer-jinx-wink]

DQ was tentative for a long time too...look how that turned out...

Jungle mains crying that they are being ignored for the first time this season even when jungle has been the most broken and easiest to carry with role the entire fucking season

Are you bronze, or just slow? Jungle dominates the early game at LITERALLY EVERY ELO FOR THE ENTIRETY OF THIS GAME. That's the fucking point of the jungle. But if you are honestly telling me that bot lane doesn't decide the game in the current meta, then you need to actually play a couple games before you start pontificating about balance...

thats my point. jungle has been the best role in the game this entire season. pretty sure i dont need to be told by a plat 5 that im low elo.

You fail to understand the purpose of the jungler. They are DESIGNED to have early game impact, they are SUPPOSED to influence the game very heavily, that's why they aren't in a lane. Nerfing junglers across the board is a terrible idea, especially with how bad the damage creep has gotten this season.

it needs to go away

Yet again tanks get kneecapped, while bursty dps champions only get a slap on the wrist.

Sohleks2 votes

Relax, they will be nerfing fervor.

There's nothing inherently wrong with fervor giving more dmg in long fights versus champions. It's just too strong atm and will be nerfed.

Meanwhile nearly every single jungle goes SotA even when their primary purpose is dmg. And it's not really appreciated by laners and works really passively and plainly.

We're gonna have a keystone for tankies in lane that isn't grasp. And offensive junglers will more often spec more naturally along their purpose.

Now since lower tier junglers have to spec armor and don't start dorans/have to build jungle items junglers will be down a lot of HP compared to laners though.

No. Many junglers are tanks (the role requires either inherent tankiness, or a healing effect), and therefore most junglers run SoA. Also, and this is more important, THERE IS NO GOOD KEYSTONE FOR JUNGLERS. SoA was just the best of a bad situation. There isn't another option, and the new replacement is NOT ideal for junglers in any way.

i agree with you on the damage creep, but strength of the ages is being replaced with a % health shield, you know

That doesn't help junglers at all for half of the early game and is only really usable by about 1/2 of the current jungling pool.

Unless slows count, which would be stupid and abused by everyone.

slows don't count.

You'd be surprised at how effective a percent health shield can be at any point in the game. The shield is suppose to scale throughout the game, naturally, just as damage scales throughout the game. One reason I'm glad they are changing SoTA is because it's boring as shit. Yeah it gives you health and eventual percent healing, but most people found that the percent healing wasn't useful at all because by the time you get max stacks you aren't really fighting camps anymore, so why have something important become useless - aside from the permanent health - which I also believe is too powerful and creates too many super tanks when combined with cinderhulk and abilities with percent health based damage such as Zac W.

I still think it should be procable by neutral monsters. I'd like to get a keystone that's useful in the jungle for tanks.

MonkeyMadness8 votes

I'd so much rather have 300 extra HP that also boosts my Cinderhulk % bonus and gives me any health scaling (ie Sejuani w, Zac healing with blobs).

RocketRelm1 votes

To be fair, it would be kind office with a revamped mastery system to try things out like Stormraider's Surge Hecarim Jungle, without feeling bad about passing on strength of ages.

MonkeyMadness2 votes

SRS on hec is terrible. He will go fervor 100% now, and contribute to the ever growing damage creep.

Pnakotic1 votes

Hold on, you don't see all the change coming( all of us don't see it) it's just the beginning

MonkeyMadness2 votes

I have been conditioned to expect the worst from Riot after what they did to us in season 6.

I'm pretty sure this is why they are removing it. Lol

No other keystone even functions well for junglers though, and nerfing tanks in general only helps to worsen the damage creep.

Well now this one will work well for junglers :)

MonkeyMadness1 votes

No it won't...it does literally nothing for the initial clear, and this is what really determines whether or not a champ can even jungle. SoA at least gave you a bit of bonus health through that initial clear, this literally does nothing.

MonkeyMadness2 votes

Yes, I've seen that, but the fact that those changes weren't notable enough to announce in the original update post should be cause for alarm.

Kaioko1 votes

They've stated that the shield would have a similar CD to something like thunderlord's, that it would only proc on hard CC (so slows do not count) and that the shield would be "Massive." I personally don't think it's a nerf especially since it'll stop the abuse from champions like Nidalee taking it.

MonkeyMadness1 votes

And champs like sejuani and zac that have decent HP scaling are now hugely fucked. And if Nid really was taking SoA, then that's because Riot didn't provide enough variety in their masteries. SoA has a good place, and to remove it like this is wrong.
