Why Sweeping Lens needs a buff to make it its own item.

I am finding it hard to get a solid reason for not upgrading item 3341 to item 3364. Unlike how item 3340 and item 3363 are 2 different functioning versions of vision, where both kinds are needed sometimes, item 3341 and item 3364 have little difference (only 1 actually and that is where the cast is). So I ask, why would I ever stay with just item 3341?

Both item 2043 and item 3363 or item 3364 can cover its functions. item 2043 for anti-invisibile champions, anti-invisible traps, and anti-invisible wards. AND is permanent until cleared or moved. item 3363 for ranged scouting to prevent death bushes or see if the enemy is really at objectives or not. item 3364 does the same thing except better, wider AOE longer duration, AND mobility.

Seriously, why sweep/clear just 1 bush when I can sweep/clear the whole river section or Jungle quadrant? At least with item 3340 and item 3363 their functions differ enough to validate both as useful items. item 3340 has limited cast range and a lifespan, but is 3 hit, invisible, targetable for abilities, and can be stored to 2 uses. Whereas item 3363 is not invisible, targetable for abilities (sadly), storable, 1-hit, and has a smaller vision radius, it has nearly half-the-map cast range, and has no global amount placed cap nor affects your personal vision ward placed cap.

I can only think of one reason to have item 3341 over item 3364, and IMO it really is not strong enough to validate it. The reason would be to disable a ward/trap for a roam/gank for the roamer/ganker. The reason this is not that strong though is that, 1, any observant laner would notice their ward was disabled and back off or play immediately safer expecting a gank. And 2, how often does this seriously happen? Most junglers get item 3364 anyways so they can uses it themselves when they roam, and disable multiple warding spots as well so that the gank is potentially even more unpredicted If they didn't have it, the wards not in the brush they sweep would pick them up, so saying that disabling the ward would alert opponents sooner, while valid, is not 100% guaranteed so it still is prefered (like if a ward at dragon and one in the river bot side bush were set up, item 3364 could get both disabled while item 3341 would only be able to disable 1 of the 2).

I think item 3341 needs something to make it stand out more and not just a building item for item 3364. Maybe if it also revealed champions fully (like pink wards do) it would feel like a unique item that could be needed for certain situations. Also, if this had that "true vision" aspect, then in late-game (when you do not have an inventory slot for a pink ward), you had something to counter those invisible champions with.

This aspect would be only on item 3341 and would be removed on item 3364 as more of a trade off for the added mobility and potential to sweep many warding areas/bushes on one use.

I support this idea 100%. I often keep the first version until laning is over(When I jungle), so that I can disable a ward from a distance.. But it feels so weak in comparison to the other one, and in higher ELO I'm sure would be useless.

Down where I am, if I disable the river bush ward before it can see me, they don't normally notice - That's literally the only use for it I have. Or occasionally sweeping a camp from across a wall to see if it's there.

What if the sweeper lense gave vision to invisible units ? That would resolve the problem of not having space for pink wards and if upgraded would lose its ability to see said invisible champs

That's exactly what he suggested.
